  2. Another terrible choice by Manuel.

You've got to let Colon go for the complete game.

    f*** YOU JERRY!

    CWSOX45

Hello, they won, so just shut up with the Rick Whiteesque second guessing.

Assuming Colon was fine (which i don't think he was), of course you second guess this

If they blow it, it gets second guessed. So just cuz we win we throw a blindfold on to any bad moves in the game? That's the wrong perspective to have, i'm sorry

Because one game, that same stuff will cost you. Then it's ok to talk about it?

No, I understand the scutiny, but for christ sake's, it turned out he had a blister. It's things that I hear like "f*** You Jerry!" that piss me off. No one even knew the circumstances for him taking Colon out. I get frustrated by him too, but he knows more about baseball than anyone on this board, and if he thinks it's a good move, he's got more credibility than anybody on this board does.

  3. Possibly the most clueless post ive ever seen at soxnet.  You totally contradicted yourself within 2 or 3 sentences.

What part of what I said was contradictory. You look at more than winning or losing. I think there is nothing more than winning or losing. While an A.L. Championship is all well and good, it's not a World Series Championship, which is the ultimate symbol of winning. I say if these guys have to scrap out tough wins, so be it. A win is a win no matter how bad you play.

  4. If you look at his stats at AA Birmingham and Binghamton, it hurts to lose him. But, with a plethora of lefties already up, and some in AAA, we could afford to ship him out.

Those are minor league stats though, not majopr league proven stats like Robbie's. I understand that we lost a prospect, but that's all he was, a prospect. I just think people around here talk about our minor league prospects as superstars, when all they really are is unproven talent.

  5. It is too early to ask that question.  You can't rate a prospect trade when the prospects are still in the minors, come back in 3 years.

Then wasn't it too early to start the KW bashing regarding Ring when he traded an unproven minor league reliever for a Hall of Fame second baseman?

  6. I look at things deeper than wins and losses.  This just doesnt look like a team that can win in the playoffs.  Im happy we won the game, but theres more to it than just winning and losing.

A win is a win, and no there is nothing more to it than winning and losing. There is no trophy for second place. While an A. L. Championship is good, it really doesn't mean a whole hell of alot, it just means you were a good team.

  7. sox-r-us...  You don't have any right to call someone ignorant, you should take a look in the mirror.  For lack of a decent vocabulary, you have to use the F word over and over again.  I don't think anyone hear quite understands the pressure of being a major league manager, and I sincerely doubt any of you could do a better job than Manuel has this year.  He turned a slumping ballclub around.  Every one makes mistakes and wrong choices.  A week ago when the Sox were on a roll everyone was praising and saying how good of a job he was doing, and now, with three losses in a row, you all choose to put him back on the dartboard.  Sure, I may not agree with everything Jerry Manuel says and does, but I can also talk about it in an intelligent fashion instead of sounding like a moron and using the f word every other second.  Rick White had no rite to say what he said, something like that needs to be kept in the clubhouse.  What he said may have destroyed the chemistry that the team had while riding their winning streak.  Rick White is more than likely the reason that the Sox are hurting right now.  Manuel will now have to prove himself by getting his team back in shape and leading them to the postseason.  You shouldn't judge a man's job until he's finished.

Agreed! Last night was one game. Stop being turncoats for once and just support this team instead of over critizing every tiny detail.

  8. I absolutely hate the Yankees. If you look at ESPN Insider Rumor Central, they are in play for every free agent. I sick of seeing them buy their teams. I could give two s***s about their glorious history. I hope Boston wins that division so bad, and they top it off by shoving a bat in Steinbrenner's ass sideways. Peace.

  9. Loaiza pitched well in his last start against TB. But, like earlier in the season, no run support.

I got a feeling we'll se better run support this time. The offense is finally clicking, they are at home, and they are facing worse pitching than in Toronto.

  10. The sox have to really enter this series with the Rays and approach as if playing a rival. They have to keep their intensity. The Rays have been putting up solid #s against good teams lately because they catch them sleeping. They have to keep in mind what happened down there. Worry about KC on Monday.

I agree. Tampa played well against the Red Sox. It seems like they are definitely up for playing the role of a spoiler. This weekend shoud be interesting out of the bullpen with Marte and Gordon pitching so much. I would assume they are not an option for tonight's game. So, Loaiza better pitch well into the game or I got a feeling we'll see Koch in there for sure.

  11. He would against us  :bang

Me and Guido are going to the game on Sunday and I'm bringing a friend with me. Just doing my part to promote White Sox baseball  :headbang

Last time we faced Ledezma we rocked the s*** out of him remember 10-1 last Sunday. The only time we had trouble with him is when we first saw him which isn't surprising.

  12. i think a lot of people are becoming dissatisfied with sportcenter/bball2nite and espn in general. it would be nice to see a new sports station pop up and try to challenge espn. kinda like a back to basics sports channel. espn news channel is really good though.

as bad as espn is becoming foxsports is just off the charts horrible. what the hell is with calling the post game show the "Sox Post". it just sounds weird and bad.

I really think that on the Sox Post on FSN they need to get rid of Damon Andrews. Personally I don't like him at all and they could have someone better on there with Bill Melton.

  13. 1) Who will win the series (CHW/TOR/Split) (2 points)? Split

    2) Who will get a save (Marte/Gordon/Neither) (Don't put "both") (2 points)? Gordon

    3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 2

    4) Who will be the Sox team leader in RBIs after the series (4 points)? Lee

    5) How many walks will Mark Buehrle issue (5 points)? 3

    6) How many hits will Carl Everett have in the series (5 points)? 3

    7) How many double plays will the Sox turn (4 points)? 6

    8) Will Frank hit his 400th HR (Y/N) (2 points)? Y

    9) Will Sandy Alomar Jr. have a multihit game (Y/N) (2 points)? N

    10) Will Bobby Kielty have an RBI (Y/N) (2 points)? N
