I saw a Carlos Quentin #20 road grey on eBay this morning.  I may or may not have added it to my watch list.😆

My son has been going to camps at Stanford and they have a big poster of Quentin (and other players that made MLB from there) outside the clubhouse. Man crush still strong on that one.

Good article, but I enter 2023 not feeling negative toward TA. He didn't say anything offensive IMO. He's a very good player. He needs to stay healthy, take more than a few walks and get that BA up to around .330 so he can be a perennial all-star. ... Also try to cut down the errors on simple plays. He makes spectacular plays often.

Great article. Just want to share, I had a couple comments directly to Rick Morrissey, and he got right back to me! Thrilled.

Most of their talent is aging , always hurt or unproductive. They've paid way too much for relievers, they have big strong guys who don't hit HR's and clog the bases. They have too many guys who don't take walks and swing too much out of the zone. They have too many players playing out of their natural positions. They are terrible defensively and fundamentally. Too many 1st base/DH types. Ownership doesn't give a shit about infrastructure which is the only way to build sustained success. Ownership cares more about avoiding franchise crippling moves like avoiding huge contracts. JR is extremely risk adverse and only cares about appreciation of his asset for his ownership group.

The damage is far too severe to be undone in one season unless somehow you get unprecedented health and the unproductive guys bounce back while the younger guys continue to get better and a minor league guy like Colas can contribute immediately.

This franchise as usual, under Reinsdorf, is in dire straits , not for the ownership group of course , just the on field product.

Un-baseball-y was a hilarious, if apt, description of us.

As you list here, our problems run deeper than we could have imagined at the start of the season, and they've all been laid bare the last few months...just plain sucks.

I still can’t believe we are fucking up one of the greatest collections of young talent in baseball history.  Somehow fucking that up is incredible.

Man I appreciate this - 30 years, 2nd to my love of music as diversions in life, and I’m just a bit confused, despite all we’ve talked about here on ST, that this team just isn’t really competing…

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Sox fandom should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    Wow!

got any TS Elliott In the repertoire while you’re at it?!
