  1. Great playing with you guys. It was a hard fought spirited contest and I would love to do it again.

All of upstate NY has seen better times.

But, I think that Rochester is worse than Buffalo. Sorry maggliopipe.

I buzzed by here tonight and couldn't help but post in this thread--I'm from Rochester, spent the first 18 years of my life there.

Rochester proper is an aging city with no new development going on, but it has its share of charms outside of downtown. The lakefront, Charlotte, High Falls and Park Avenue are all scenic and fun to check out. The suburbs of Rochester are for the most part pretty posh and have excellent schools. But there's a reason I'm "from" there and don't live there anymore...

Buffalo has some cool old buildings (their city hall is a great example of Art Deco), but it's pretty much dead outside of the bars on Elmwood or up near UB. Hope you went to the Anchor Bar for your wings, Heather.

  3. I never post here, but just wanted to say Jason, Mark and Brian...great meeting you all!

Mike and Steff, pleasure as always.

My ass is still creased from sitting on the doorhandle of my poor little car.

    :cheers

Apu is always going to whine about how the government sucks but hell never do anything. Apu, if you care so much, do something. If not, just shut up already!

They try. But since their "candidate" Ralph Nader can;t even pull 5% in a national election, their rallies are pretty much all they've got going for them. Their movement is kinda like bad heavy metal..loud, and obnoxious, and most people just tune it out.

  4. because he hates the u.s. i dont think there is a link here.

    ditto.

    A few thoughts...

    1) SADDAM HUSSIEN IS A BAD MAN.

    2) SADDAM HUSSIEN HAS ATTEMPTED NUMEROUS GENECIDES

    3) SADDAM HUSSIEN SUPPORTS THE RAPE, MURDER, TORTURE of his own people.

    4) SADDAM WOULD NOT COMPLY BY UN resolutions for 12 years.

    5) SADDAM tactics of war have only cemented all reports of his absolute evilness.

    6) UN inspections were a joke.

    7) Read the reports from the former head of the Iraq Atomic Commision and try to sleep at night.

    8) Read a report about the survivors at Halajba.

    9) Where did the FEDAYEEN train? In Bin Laden's camp. In the real world, if Saddam and Osama were not connected, the FEDAYEEN would have not been allowed to train in Afganistan.

    10) Read Saddam's Legency on the Dateline website.

    11) Go to CNN and look at the mural the Marines found.

    12) 5000 chem suits discovered. Why would the Iraq need these?

    13) Antropine Injections...not your usual medicine cabinet necessity.

    14) Dressing your soldiers as civilians, (that is a sign of a honest good president.)

    15) HUMAN SHIELDS...

    16) The treatment of our POW's v/s the treatment of their POW's.

    17) Gov't controlled TV v/s Embedded free press reporters.

    God bless you Steff!

  5. clue 1: thewre was no line at all to get in the garage sale on Friday at 5:55, when I got into SoxFest.

clue 2: walking inside, there was f***ing nothing.

I bought the only jersey they had that was under $50 (and it was $25, the one I wore Saturday), and it didn't take long for the $50-$100 jerseys to go either since there were maybe 5 at most.

Last year's garage sale was so great, so well stocked, and this one had nothing, and on top of that, I thought the people who took the money were rude and unhelpful too.  I had to ask for a certificate of authenticity for my Comiskey seat slats and the rest of my dealings with them I am not going to go into.

    What was there?

I am interested if there is like 25$-50$ autograph items, could you tell me what could be in that price range? (I am willing to go over a little bit.)

I bought a lineup card from the Sox-Expos game on 6/6 for $50 mainly because nothing else really appealed to me. Had I been feeling extra saucy, I would have bought a ball signed by Royce Clayton for $10. They had almost as many of those as they did Belle jerseys.

  6. I'll have on a Sox bullpen fleece and black floppy. Will be in the Mags line tomorrow and then at the season tix session after that and will cap the night off in the Atrium Bar.

Actually, no, it was at La Passage.  I have heard that he is at The Hunt Club a lot.

He's there every time I am there, which isn;t much anymore but used to be a lot. I actually sat next to him one night and shot the s*** with him for like an hour about life in general (very little baseball talk)...he's not a bad guy and is actually pretty smart.

    Lemme guess, The Hunt Club?
