I would doubt it. Part of this is allowing us to trade Valentin and cutting the payroll. This scenario wouldnt help that.

Then the Red Sox have weakened themselves at shortstop, bullpen and defense. They would have Maggs, Ramirez, and Nixon in the outfield, and I don't even want to begin to guess who plays center.
