Royals already troubled by nagging injuries:

Featured Replies

Darrell May, troubled by a sore groin, yielded three runs in three innings today.

May is going to keep pitching through the injury, and the Royals won't be concerned if he has a poor spring. May had a 9.26 ERA in five exhibition appearances last year and ended up being one of the better pitchers in the American League.

Brian Anderson, who left his start Monday after two innings with a strained left hamstring, said he shouldn't miss his next start.

"It's nothing major," Anderson said. "I'll be really disappointed if I would miss a start."

I know these are minor injuries, but with Snyder already gone and Appier likely not back until May, they could be seriously shaky. The Sox need to jump out of the gate immediately.

They need to do that anyway. They dont need to be worrying about what's going on with the other teams. As long as all their ducks are in a row they will be fine.

How in the world is that jinxing them? The Sox have been very fortunate to stay healthy the past couple of years, with the exception of 2001, and I'm not wishing injuries on any of the Royals. I'm simply saying that if injuries like that cause KC to have to bring up pitchers who might not be ready that the Sox need to be able to win to distance themselves a bit.
