JC 42 Dustin Shafer, ss, St. Catharine (Ky.) CC 43 Brandon Johnson, 2b, Crowder (Mo.) CC 44 Everly is the 10th rated player in state of Illinois, and there are 2 others we have not signed yet, LHP Travis Doyle from Grand Rapids, Mich JC (22nd round), is 10th rated prospect in Michigan, and Mitch Woolf, RHP from Southern Idaho JC (45th round) is 3rd rated prospect in Rocky Mountain region, and considered the 3rd best draft and follow prospect available.

June 4, 200421 yr Not a whole lot out there on Acosta, but apparently is 5'11 170 pounds and is 21 years old, hits and throws right handed. From the box scores I've seen, he apparently hit cleanup for his team.

Everly was drafted twice by the Sox, solid pickup. Hear anything on Van Pope? BA rated him the 3rd best JuCo draft and follow.
June 4, 200421 yr Author Oh, it was Van Pope who was rated that highly, I thought maybe it was the guy from Idaho. Good catch, could not find that online in BA, but I read it in the print copy. Have not heard anything on him. As Rex said on our other board, Duane Shaffer is from Californa, so likely not a relation, in fact spelled differently I think.
