June 29, 200421 yr Why is it that Loaiza seems afraid to throw inside to batters with runners on. It seemed like last year he was so successful by moving the ball to both sides of the plate. This year it seems like he's getting rocked because he keeps trying to go away, away, away, and hitters are going with it. Has he lost confidence is himself or what?
June 29, 200421 yr Wow Hawk Harrelson is posting on this site now?!?!?! COOL! Well besides his loss in velocity I truly havent noticed his lack of pitching inside until Hawk was obsessing on it in the early innings yesterday. I actually am optimistic on Esty having a solid remainder of the season...hes been throwing more 4 seam fastballs to mix with his cutter and as long as he continues to do this i think he will be ok...Nothing like last year but he should be successful

June 29, 200421 yr I'd sure like to know what Ozzie said to ELo on the mound - ElLo was looking like he wasn't going to make it, that he didn't have it at all, and Ozzie ran to the mound, said something very briefly, Ozzie left the mound almost immediately, and ELo was a different pitcher the rest of the game. Whatever word or few words Ozzie said, it sure was effective! remember when nardi would go to the mound and the next pitch ended as a home run?
