Ross Gload should go

Featured Replies

I personally wouldn't have went with the hit and run there. Like an earlier poster stated the first pitch was a good call, but IMO it should have been called off after that. HOWEVER, This is in NO way Gloads fault or Willie's fault. It was bad fricken luck. The dam ball was a foot of the plate on a hit and run...ya can't blame willie for not getttin a piece and you sure as hell can't blame Gload for running on a hit and run.... It just sucked...and then Willie hit's a double so it just burns more....but still....the only thing to blame here is bad luck!

You don't call a hit and run when a pitcher on the mound is making his major league debut and just gave up a rope single on his second pitch. There are also no outs. That's just stupid baseball, period. That's not small ball, that's not ozzie ball, that's just stupid.

There is a fine line between aggressiveness and stupidity. You simply cannot throw a blanket phrase over every move Ozzie makes that looks like "small ball" instead of waiting for the three run home run. There is a time and place for hit and runs, bunts, steals, etc. Not every damn one he calls is going to work, i realize that, but you have to call for them in the right situation. You can't excuse Ozzie for every "aggressive" move he makes, ignoring the situation, just because he is "trying to make something happen".

That pitcher is still thanking Ozzie for the free out. I wish Irod was behind the plate so we didn't even try to pull crap like that.

Why the hell not? What other kind of pitcher would you expect to make a "mistake" pitch in those circumstances. Some people would b**** if you hung them with a new rope. :headshake

Mistake pitch? See, you play into my hands. He'll just get a hit off of him (he did), and Gload has scored or is standing on third. You don't help the guy get outs in that situation. Poor move.

The dickhead hits a nice single but is later caught stealing. Next batter.... Willie hits a double in which should have been an RBI double. I hate this f***ing guy. Can't stand to see his f***ing face. Ross should get the hell out of here.

Actually...Neal Cotts and Mike Jackson should go before Gload.

I'm not playing into your hands. If Mr. Rookie Pitcher makes a mistake on the hit and run pitch, then it's all good.

And when he doesn't, you just gave him a free out. His mistake pitch came later.

Hind sight is 20/20.
