August 23, 200520 yr OTTAWA (CP) - The Ottawa Senators have avoided salary arbitration with Marian Hossa by signing the star forward to an $18-million US, three-year deal. A source said Hossa will earn $5 million this season, $6 million in 2006-07 and $7 million the following season. The Sens and Hossa were scheduled to go to arbitration Tuesday morning if a deal wasn't reached. August 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) Hossa dominates... the sens are ridiculously stacked upfront. And trade him to the Thrashers for Dany Heatley. Hossa to Thrashers
August 23, 200520 yr QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) And trade him to the Thrashers for Dany Heatley. Hossa to Thrashers Wow, I'm surprised Waddell did this. Ballsy move, and probably a good one, for all parties.
August 24, 200520 yr I'm pissed, but I hope it works out for the Sens. Maybe the Canes still have a chance to beat the Sens when Brian and I go see them play on our honeymoon!
