PITTSBURGH (AP) -- The Cincinnati Reds overcame a frightening injury to Sean Casey and handed Zach Duke his first major league loss with an 8-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday in the opener of a doubleheader. Casey was taken from the field on a stretcher after being accidentally struck in the head by the forearm of Pirates' catcher Humberto Cota on a play at first base in the seventh inning. According to the team, Casey was struck under the right eye and initially knocked unconscious but was alert and talking at a Pittsburgh hospital, where he was taken for a CT scan. I saw the play while I was at the gym. It looked nasty. Hope Sean is okay.
