Anyone remember that article that our Cubbie-loving Governor "wrote" for Yahoo a few years back? The one that ended in "I wouldn't wear a Sox cap even if they made it to the World Serires"? The one that he officially blamed on a rogue ghostwriter?

I wonder if he'll be sticking to it.

I'd actually respect him more if he did; he's the phoniest bandwagoner ever. I'm very proud of my fellow Sox fans for booing him when he tried to throw out the first pitch at the Cell.

Would you wear a Cubs cap if they made it to the World Series? Yeah, me neither. And I respect other fans who are really loyal to their teams.

However, if I were elected governor of ALL the people of Illinois, I sure as heck would be promoting any and all of our sports teams every chance I got.

See the difference? He’s not a phony bandwagoner, he’s THE GOVERNOR, the chief rah-rah person for every business in the state.

Reminds me of Senator Durbin a few years ago during a Crosstown Series game.

Announcer (I think it was Stone): Who are you rooting for today, Senator?

Durbin: (chuckling) Chicago. I'm rooting for Chicago.
