If only Nomar could play shortstop again and play in Kansas City.

They also got Elarton.

Well at least the royals will be semi-competative next year.

Don't forget Bako. :)

The beat writers in KC this year might come down with carpal-tunnel syndrome.

With the tigers for 4th place.

I think they have a shot at winning at least 40 games this year.

The Royals have also made an offer to Jacque Jones:

According to major-league sources, general manager Jim Hendry has made a contract offer in the last couple of days to free-agent outfielder Jacque Jones, but the Cubs also remain in a trade scenario for an outfielder. Hendry declined to comment on the matter Monday.

The offer to Jones is believed to be no more than a two-year proposal and not as lucrative as the three-year, $15 million deal the Kansas City Royals reportedly have offered. The St. Louis Cardinals also might be in the bidding.

What this also means is the Hendry might let himself get outbid by the Royals. To all those that are always battling with Cub fans ... you're welcome. :)
