December 28, 200520 yr What a weird weather pattern we are in. Today was 82 degrees - with a dew point of 16 - that's a relative humidity of 7%. Combine that with 30 mph winds and a serious drought, it became a tinderbox. The air is really smokey here now. All sorts of fires all around where I live. None are close enough to burn our house down or anything... but from what the weather is saying, we are supposed to stay in this pattern for at least 10 days. I guess a person was killed earlier tonight because of the fires. I sure hope we get some rain at some point. It's been the driest year in 56 years here.
December 28, 200520 yr I was watching some of that on the news last night. Pretty scary. Glad you're OK, kap.
December 28, 200520 yr Author Doing ok so far! I just hope none of these critters get close enough to my house to matter. On one side of my neighborhood, it's nothing but brush and open field. Pretty scary if for some reason that should go up... we'd be right in the line of fire, literally.
