Although the ink has yet to dry on the Brian Griese deal, the Chicago Bears took a step in the right direction, locking up the veteran quarterback. The importance of the Brian Griese signing is twofold. First, in Griese, the Chicago Bears have a quarterback who can put some pressure on starting quarterback Rex Grossman in camp and force Grossman to step up or step out.
