June 6, 200322 yr Ok so the bats were left in Birmhingham this much we know. Now as far as I can tell Wally Backman kept those bats in storage because he thought he would be managing the big league club soon. After Gary Ward got fired, he sent them over to Greg Walker in Charlotte. Unfortunately Greg grabbed the wrong bats when he got on the plane. He claimed it was all by mistake even though there was a big C on the Sox bats for "Chicago". Last I heard, said bats were on their way to Cooperstown for further examination.
