Well, he doesnt really catch that much anymore, he was a DH,1B for awhile. If they plan on starting him every day at C, I would expect an injury.

He hasn't played 1b at all this year. Iirc, they tried him there in the preseason, but he was lousy, was hitting like crap, and the Os had a glut at the position, anyway. He's not playing catcher much because they signed Hernandez. But he's still played 20 games there, it's not like he's got to relearn the position. Assuming Mirabelli gets a little extra work, Lopez should hold up fine.
