September 4, 200619 yr I did not notice Jon Garland is tied for the MLB lead in wins, and has a winning % of .800. I did not realize this until today. IMO, he is quietly having a great year. After having a horrible start to the season, he has improved greatly, and racking up wins. I hope I didn't just jinx him, but then again, we're not the cubs, and I don't believe in jinxes.
September 4, 200619 yr He's been our most consistent guy thus far, and his win total is high but so is his ERA. Then again, it hasn't been a good year for ERA in the American League.
September 4, 200619 yr It's too bad he was so atrocious to start the year. Otherwise, he would be in the discussion about Cy Young award. His ERA is way beyond consideration for it, but he will end up with a great year anyhow. Had it not been for his consistency in the second half, the Sox would be out of playoff contention by now. Hopefully he finishes with 20 to 21 wins.
