    One more reason this may happen. Per 3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 in another thread, ESPN reported that Detroit is the mystery team in for Bonds. Did Leyland manage Bonds in Pittsburg? The Sox may sign Bonds to block this.

     

    Paying 15 mil/year to block him from another team is not a good idea. Frankly, we would never do that. We don't pay 15 for guys we actually want much less primarily to block him from another team. I'm glad to hear he has signed.
