Dennis Hastert was the SPEAKER OF THE U.S. HOUSE. That is, I think, a wee bit different than some state senator in South Dakota. Also, Senator Reid's land deals are all OVER the news, if you want a good analog to Hastert. Your example is poorly analagous.
