1973: Ed Herrmann had the game of his life in the White Sox 11-1 win over the Oakland Athletics in Game 2 of a doubleheader before 34,841 at Comiskey Park. Herrmann clubbed two home runs and drove in seven runs in helping the Sox salvage a split from the defending World Champions. The RBIs were one shy of a club record and the most by a Sox player in 18 seasons.

1974: Ron Santo hit the 342nd and final home run of his career in the White Sox 3-1 win at Kansas City. Santo, playing third and batting sixth, hit a two-run shot in the sixth to give the Sox the lead for good. Santo hit .221 with five homers and 41 RBIs in 117 games for the 1974 White Sox.
