The White Sox could swing a deal to get Pierre from the Marlins or something. I don't think Pierre will be avaible at anytime this year. Plus I don't see the marlins trading anyone till atleast they are 5-10 games below .500
July 1, 200322 yr We won't get Pierre with what he has done this year for the fish, and that he's cheap for them. Leave DJ on the bench for a untility role and waive Rios, the scrub.
July 1, 200322 yr I believe the term "designated for assignment" applies when you wish to send down a player who is out of options or has five years of service. IOW you can't just send him down to the minors. You make him available to the rest of the two leagues. Jiminez is different. We can send him down to Charlotte, no questions asked, unless he is out of options, which I do not think is the case.
