It was the final grand slam hit by a White Sox player at Old Comiskey Park. Lance Johnson contributed a Sox season-high three stolen bases while going 3-for-5. Eric King did not surrender an earned runin seven innings before giving way to Shawn Hillegas, who mopped up with two perfect frames. 1990: Bobby Thigpen tied the all-time season record with his 46th save in the White Sox 9-5 win over the Angels in California. Thigpen preserved Melido Perez's 12th victory of the year by recording the final two outs of the game. Thigpen would finish 1990 with a Major League record 57 saves.
