Hernandez started the game and carried a no-hitter into the seventh in getting the victory while Jackson, trying to overcome a hip injury, collected an RBI single. Frank Thomas’ homer in the fourth inning was his 30th of the season, making him just the eighth player in Sox history to reach that plateau (11th time). Dan Pasqua's homer in the fourth inning was the 100th of his career.
