November 17, 200223 yr Enjoy: Winter ball: Twelve Sox players, including D'Angelo Jimenez, Willie Harris, Joe Borchard, Damaso Marte and Jose Valentin, will spend time this offseason playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Harris and Borchard have joined Valentin in the Puerto Rican League, playing for Mayaguez. Dominican League: Edwin Almonte (RHP, Aguilas), Edwin Yan (2B, Azucareros), Jake Myer (RHP, Azucareros), D'Angelo Jimenez (INF, Licey) and Damaso Marte (LHP, Pollos) Puerto Rican League: Chris Amador (2B, Carolina), Jose Valentin (SS, Mayaguez), Joe Borchard (OF, Mayaguez), Willie Harris (INF, Mayaguez) and Andy Gonzalez (SS, Ponce) Venezuelan League: Mike Porzio (LHP, Cardenales) and Danny Sandoval (INF, Zulia) Prospecting out west: Six Sox prospects are currently participating in the Arizona Fall League. Pitchers Gary Majewski, Jon Adkins, Josh Stewart, Dave Sanders and Joe Valentine and infielder Tim Hummell are members of the Peoria Javelinas.
