I actually expected it, especially after CC rejected their offer. Not really any of other viable choice if they let him go outside of trading for someone.

    Just because they renewed him doesn't mean they will keep him. If they just flat out give him to the Yankees, they'll have saved his buyout - $750,000. No small potatoes.

    Oh, and CC hasn't rejected anything...yet.
