Boston CEO quote

Sounds like the Sox lost out to Boston on Pirates starter Jeff Suppan, if you read into Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino's comment to the Boston Globe on Tuesday: "The problem is that whatever rock we look under, the White Sox and Yankees seem to be looking too."

Kudos to KW to getting Robbie, Mt. Everett, and Schoney! And then more kudos for trying to get a 5th starter!

What rock aren't the Yankees looking under?

And, around the trade deadline, most contending teams are after the same guys, the ones that are of quality and are available. Did Epstein expect to be like "oh wow we discovered this pitcher in the NL, Suppan, he's available, let's keep this on the DL"

It's fine we didn't get Suppan. I was pretty much in favor of not making another move for a starting pitcher.
