I'm going with #1. Unless the guy dies tomorrow or suffers a career-ending injury, he'll shatter 755 IMO.

Bonds is classless. But I hope for karma here. I hope he now breaks it against an equally classless f*** named Carlos Zambrano. CZ is lucky that liner by Bonds yesterday didn't take his goddamn ugly f***in' head off. But the way he showed Bonds up after making the catch to get out of a bases loaded jam was above and beyond anything Bonds ever did.

And in case posters here have forgotten, CZ did it to Carlos Lee too at Wrigley on 06/22.

Yeah man...Zambrano is VERY annoying. As far as Bonds though I don't see anything other than injury gettin in his way of Hank's record. The guy might hit another 50 or so this year. What would that bring his total to?

Well, I don't think he'll hit another 50 this year, but if he ends up with 50 (that would be 17 more, so I think that's a pretty safe bet that he'll do it), he'll have 663 in his career. He would only need 93 more to break Hank's record. That's 31 a year for 3 years (and I think he'll play at least 3 more after this year, especially if he goes to the AL as a DH). It's a virtual lock IMO.

How? That was one of the softest liners I've ever seen back to the pitcher.

I for one don't have a problem with a guy getting excited after a big play. Last year, did you have a problem with Osuna when he fanned Sosa to end the game? I sure as hell didn't.

Zambrano looks as if he's tryin to show guys up. To get that excited over every lil play is stupid if u ask me...But like Bonds said. His fat ass will lean respect....

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. Now if the bases were empty, and Bonds weren't the tying run, then it's wrong. But the bases were full, and Barry f***ing Bonds was the tying run. I pray to God that baseball doesn't turn to football where they celebrate everything. But in a big situation, I like to see fire.

I hope you guys are viewing it this way just because he is on the Cubs.

Of course they are........................ there wasnt anything wrong with what he did.

Whatd he do? And I remember what he did at Wrigley. Whatta punk.

As for Bonds, I like him but Id say he wont break the record. Hell make second but not first. HES 39...

I think Bonds will play for a loooooong time yet. He is fascinated with his own legacy, and he wants to break as many records as possible and put them out of reach. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get 900 homers. With the DH, he can play to age 45.

He's perfect capable of playing till he's 45. Bonds did say something a few days ago about just passing Ruth and not caring about Aaron. But I think his ego will force him to go for it all. Hell, he may even set his sights on Sadahara Oh.

Once his contract expires in SFO (don't know when) I bet a lot of AL teams will want him for DH.

No, but that was mainly because he got out the guy that shows-up pitchers the most. His little hop is stupid and shows pitchers up like no other...I'm surprised more players didn't do what that Torres kid for Pittsburgh did earlier this year.

Sosa just got a little of his own medicine.
