And I can't say enough about that catch Everett made... Play of the year for the White Sox in my mind...

The reason I don't like this team's chances is the lack of range, but apparently Everett made a hell of a catch tonight. I like this team's chances a lot. Getting there will be an obstacle in its own right....but doing something in there will be another totally different beast.

I think that we will atleast get to see if Manuel goes with these 3 and has a very big bullpen in the postseason, or if we go with Garland in game 4.

You still need a pen even with 3 aces, otherwise we would've just beat the 2 time defending World Series Champs.

You still need a pen even with 3 aces, otherwise we would've just beat the 2 time defending World Series Champs. That's a tough call in my book. Regardless, we do still have something that resembles a pen. Schow, Wunsch, Gordon, and Marte are all pretty good pitchers(aside from Schow's one blowup against KC). Ginter can be solid(though he's not with the big club right now), and I think Wright could be a hell of a reliever too. That's 6 guys. In my book, that's a bullpen, and in all actuality, come postseason time, you really only need 5 guys. Technically, we have more then enough, and depending upon what Manuel does, we may have Garland in the pen too.

I personally would like to see Garland as a long relief pitcher in the playoffs. We only really need three starters, since they have a day in between games when the teams change cities, and I'm not so sure Garland is quite up there with the top three as a big-game pitcher, so I don't think he'd do well in such big-game situations the playoffs provide.
August 9, 200322 yr Not only did Buehrle come up big by winning this game, but by pitching a complete game, he allowed our bullpen to get fully rested after the day off. That was BIG, imho.

IMO, it depends. We play Oakland, I'm going to want Colon, Buehrle, and Loaiza going, and that's it. They will only get 3 days rest, but we will matchup much better against them with those 3 on the hill against their 3. If they send Harden out, we send Garland out. Neither have estabilished themselves as big game pitchers. If we play New York, Seattle, or Boston, and I'm thinking we send out our top 4. But that's just MHO.
