  1. I  was lucky to go to the two AlCS games against the Angels . I was living in San Jose Ca at the time and I  had a friend in southern california. We were able to get decent outfield tickets.  I remember crying when Konerko got the last out and I knew they were going  to the series-The drizzle was coming  down , I will neve  forget  it.

  2.  One good thing about this move the White Sox made, they will be players in the off season and free agency. I do not see Jerry bringing back Tony to lose---they will be spending money and adding  missing  parts to the team.  Jerry is going to give  Tony what he needs to get to the top of the mountain with the White Sox-he is all in. I think Jerry did not hire Tony to lose, he will be wanting to make a point with this hire. This might be a good sign from the top.

  4. The sox are finally thankfully in great shape for the most part, why would he fire Hann?  I think he wants to give his friend  a good shot at the brass ring.  Jerry is 84 so he thinks 76 is young. If they did La Russa  for a year or to teach a very good and upcoming young manager maybe I could live with that,  but I think I would rather go with HInch

  5. One of my all-time favorite sox teams is the 83 white  sox, makes me feel old. If it was not that goof messing up on the base path the sox would won and Hoyt pitching next game they win and are world series  bound ughhhhhhh.  I am one of Tony's fan . If this was ten years I would say yes. I have a lot of reservations if this is a real option. One he has not managed in 9 years-the game has changed. His age is my real concern  would he up with all the travel this year and beyond? This team has a good 5 year window and I do not want a lot of with the manager spot. My honest question is tony a viable option? My first pick I think is Hinch .My heart is with Tony but common sense says no.

  6. Is this a signal that Jerry has given up control of the team? Jerry in the past was too loyal.  This sounds as if someone else has their hands on the wheel  1000 percent. What does that mean for the off season  if there has been  change in control? Is Hahn now in complete  control or a combination of him and Kenny in control?

  7. Yes the sox did have  a 3-0 lead  but  I never felt at ease with what the manager was doing. I agree with some people he was managing  not to lose. I hate when football coaches do that-they lose. It is way easy to second guess  but I just feel that Dunning was pulled to soon. I Have seen pitchers struggle in the first inning and then settle down , he did have two outs and it is not fair to say he would have been scored upon. We will never know and that is what bothers me a little. Dunning stays in  and might get shelled or might get thru the easy second inning lineup. Does that change the final score who knows.

  8. good post by a-train our manager made poor pitching decisions in this game and hit the panic button way to soon-that affected the whole team. I have never seen a starting pitcher pulled out of a game  in the first inning  when healthy  with 15 pitches thrown and 2 outs-sorry I would have given Dunning the chance. Worse case  they score a couple of runs  are the sox doomed to lose 2-0? I am not saying they would have won but they should have given the man a chance.

  9. I was wondering if Vaugh  can he play right field?  Has he played in the outfield ever? If the best thing happens next year and he makes the team the DH spot would be a bad idea. The current first basemen really doe not not like being a DH. I think he does a good job at first base.  It will be interesting to see how that hopefully shakes out next spring training and regular season

  10. I did not mind seeing him pitch but I do not think the whole season should have been put on the shoulders of a guy with very limited  experience. I just dont agree with wasting most of your pitching staff before half the game is over. Why was bummer only allowed one  inning? That is one hell of a small pitch  count really. Devils advocate why why was Rodon put on the team ahead of Lopez.  I had no faith in Rodon I could not even watch when he was on the mound . At least Lopez had a few good moments here and there and had experience going more than one inning.. Did you really think you were going to get more than one good inning out of Rodon at the most. That was pouring gasoline onto the fire that was a gift to Oakland.

  11. who won the series-Oakland was not scared if they lost one game or fell behind are manager was. I do not care how you break it down  the odds were with Dunning, he did somehow get two outs. If Dunning  goes even just two innings  the game turns on a dime. If he got out of the first inning unscored on he  faced the 6th , 7th and 8th hitters in the second not excactly sluggers row.  Did our manager think the sox needed a shut out out to win? How did Rodon get such a long leash  and why was he in the game at that point. I had more faith in Dunning than Rodon.  why did bummer only pitch one inning-that has to be the smallest pitch count allowed this year. The sox could have got  two innings out of him.

  12. I agree I do not know what would have happened but the point is he was never given the chance. The game turns on a dime if he goes two  innings or so  before getting pulled out. He might have given up a 3 run home run and still should have not doomed the sox.  I was Happy with a 3-0 lead but I was worried-I had bad vibes that we were headed into troubled waters.  How Did Rodon have a longer leash than Dunning? Why was Rodon in the game at that point?
