  1. One I putting that kind of pressure on crochet is  wrong. How many innings did he pitch this year 3-or 4 ? not much more.  I was not counting on him to be our savior.  The odds were in favor of Dunning 1st and third two outs the  house money is with the pitcher. How do we know he does not get out of that jam. If he did he stars the second with the 5th , 6th  and 7th hitters not exactly sluggers. He might at least giving the sox two good innings. The thing is we will never know-he was not giving the chance. The fifth hitter in the lineup was not exactly Ted Williams

  2. How do you know that they score on Dunning in the first inning??????  I would have rolled the dice with him. If you had no faith in him  then you should have let bummer  start and pitch a few innings?  why did he only pitch one inning.  Lets say Oakland did score one run on the first inning  did that mean the sox were doomed?  Oakland was in the same situation and they did not panic like the sox did with their staff.

  3. your an idiot- by the way Oakland situation as the sox and they did not go into a panic mode in the first inning with their pitching staff why is that? It was all hands on deck for them too. I did not see the whole bullpen get up when the sox got their  first hit. Did the sox think they were going to get a no hitter or a shut out?

  4. When the White manager makes Terry Bevington look smart it is game over man game over. I understand being worried about Dunning but on the other hand he did have two outs and zero runs scored. Was our manager so scared  that if Oakland score one run the game would be out of reach? I understand the everyone on deck thing  that  does not mean you use your whole  bull pen by the 4th inning-still a 9 inning game. If this game had gone extra innings who was going to pitch? Colume for 5 innings? I have seen pitchers  have not easy first innings the other team  fails to score and then they settle down. I just thought the panic button was hit way to soon. I had a bad vibe when then they had a 3 run lead I was waiting for a bad news. I have doubts about this manager for next year  and that is not just based on this series.  If they hung onto Bevingotn for 3 years what does that tell you.

  5. I have seen pitchers have rough first  innings  and move on  and get better. I understand  all  hands on deck but for crying out loud give the guy a chance. He did have 2 outs and he did not have any runs scored on him.  Why start him? As for the rest of the game everyone on the sox mound was looking over their shoulder at the bull pen-you better believe that.  I do not think I have ever seen a pitcher pulled that fast  when he was not hurt and had two outs and there was no score. Were we that scared that if Oakland scored one run in that inning that the game would be over? That is what your telling your team.

  6. I am not trying to do a 20/20 thing but at the time  I was stunned . i know the last game Dunning was not as good but give the chance -he never had a chance to get some type of tempo-maybe he pitches out of the jam there were two outs.  I agree with Frank Thomas our manager gave off bad vibe that he thought that they could not score and would  lose. The way he was handling the pitching staff even when the team had a 3-0 lead  I had a bad feeling. I can't recall a whole bull pen being at high  alert  after 15 pitches-I know it was all hands on deck. Dunning did have some good games. Lets say  argument sakes and the sox tie the game at 6--------and it goes 11 12 1 3  innings who is left to pitch? I was on the fence about this manager but this whole series was a tipping point for me. This sox team should have won this series. I want a new Manager  but sox past history says he will stay.

  7. At this moment in time  he is a relief pitcher  if he is on the team during  the play offs. There is  no way I could say he does not have enough movement  on phis pitches  after one inning  to be a future  starter. At a quick  glance I think he could be a very good starter-but time will tell on that. i f they use him  it would be like Jenks from 2005 all over again in a way.

  8. Why is this kid batting 7th in the lineup with no real protection before him in the lineup. He can hit but they are not giving him anything good-pitching around him that obvious----------move the kid up  and get his confidence going. Good He will be a super star and you are paying him big money. When he is hot he can carry a team he is that good-----6 games left in the season moved him up ahead of Gramal please and use your gut you best guess where he should hit in the playoffs-lets not waste him--------he is not a 7 hitter

  9. You have to grade guys on  one year if they only have one year----have to have a best guess for the future not going to use minor league stats for major league players. I have to go by Rodon horrible record of being hurt. He might turn into the next Tom Seaver but I do not hold out much hope for that happening.  I like golito,  Dallas, love Dunning cease reminds me of danks-which is not bad. Kopech  should bnot be forgotten  if he can get his head together. I liked the small  look at our number one pick  for an inning last night. You have to make projections.

  10. What was a worry at the beginning of the year is not any longer. This starting pitching staff is coming along nicely :) When the sox are defending world champs after putting down the Dodgers.  The staff next year Giloto , Dallas, Dunning, Cease,  who is the last spot Rodon always hurt? Lopez  I still think he can be a good number 4 or 5 in a staff.  If he has no more mental problems Kopich is a lock if healthy, and this Garrett one inning but wow I see a lot of potential . Rodon might be a middle relief guy  to save wear and tear on his worn out body same for lopez or are they trade bait?

  11.  My rotation would  be Giolito

                                            Dallas

Dunning will be a super star

                                             Cease star

If you need a 5th man Rodon?  I am  a little worried about him he has not pitched much and even when healthy  a little bit of a wild card. I guess with no rest and if the sox have to play whole series before they win the world series against the Dodgers then he would be the 5th man. I wonder next year is he on the team as a starter? Kopich will hopefully be here and this garret guy might be on the team- rodon might be trade bait

  12. My starting rotation would be  giolito

                                                           Dallas

                                                           Dunning

                                                           cease

Rodon?  Since he has not pitched much he is iffy to me
