  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) I'll tell you exactly what happened. Usually in those spots, the RF will take control due to having a good throwing arm. Swisher thought Dye was going to call him off, but he never did. either way he must have called that ball so he should've gotten in position i dont see how that excuses him
  2. no he acctually did not do that on that catch he was not behind the ball otherwise he would not have caught it above his head he should have caught the ball on his throwing side while running in
  3. and swisher doesnt catch on his throwing side in that situation either im probably just drunk though
  4. haha swisher with a great throw you guys criticize my eye when i watch the sox but swisher consistenly does not position himself correctly when preparing to throw those balls on a sac fly he is not getting behind the ball at all like a good outfielder does but whatever im sure the moderators will come after me with some lame comeback that has nothing to do with refuting my argument in a logical way seems fallacious and why did quentin just one hop it to the cut off man? oh and another nice play by quentin
  5. so do you think swisher could cut off a ball hit in the gap better than owens, anderson, or rowand? it seems to me the only thing you can prove that is great about the sox outfield is quentin's arm because what good is dyes arm if it takes him three days to get to the ball i guess i must be drunk then when i watch these games because dye moves in slow motion, and swisher doesnt seem to track balls the way anderson or owens do, even alexi rameriez, last time i checked or maybe you guys are drunk on hawk and dj's cool aid
  6. to answer your question yes ive seen the sox play this year and from what i've seen, nick swisher doesnt cut off balls in gaps the way aaron rowand used too (used too aka hes not on the team anymore). i have yet to see swisher cut off a ball in a gap and throw out a guy like i saw from alexi ramierez of all people. quentin has yet to show me that his arm is above average with only 2 assists, which is the same amount as just about every other person in the league or in other words average. last year he only had 2 assists in 76 games i believe
  7. shiwher is not a centerfielder, he has no arm and sure he may bust his butt. remind me of a time this year when our outfielders have made a decent play on a ball hit in a gap. oh wait the only one i can think of who did that was alexi rameriez ad quentin bobbles just about everything that comes his way his transition from glove to hands isnt very fluid, and his arm is probably average maybe a bit above dye may have an arm but what good is your arm if it takes you all day to get to the ball
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:08 AM) Juan showing his "speed" catching that looper in the infield. They're going to have to make some decisions this season, defense like that is not going to help if they want to make the playoffs and im sick of DJ and Hawk's love affair with the twins, nothing is ever the sox fault against them
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:05 AM) Where the f*** was Dye? Dye blows in right field his arm is no good if it takes him all day to get to it this outfield is awful defensively
  10. im sick of this excuse that eventually were going to hit and everyone in the organization seems to be using it from reinsdorf on the score the other day to hawk every day ozzie needs to pull a leyland on these guys other wise were gonna be in for another long one like last year
  11. why wasnt jaun swinging at that first pitch fastball? instead he goes after junk on the second pitch terrible ab
  12. thats for sure. we also cant take the indians lightly and then go make up ground when we go to minnesota for a 4 game set this week i think it is.
  13. i would pay as well to see frank pitch. it would just be so ridiculously funny
  14. where the hell is he gonna go. he probably still thinks hes gonna get a coaching gig.
