  1. Rondo is going to drive me nuts, but at least the money and years aren't too bad.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 12:18 PM) Also, while catching up on this thread, I found it interesting to see how little comments there were on the Bulls' actual draft pick. I think everyone basically responded with "meh." He's not a great athlete, but he has a lot of basketball skills and there wasn't an obvious superior alternative.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:17 AM) Roberson needs to literally take 1000 3-pointers a day this offseason. Oladipo shot almost 35% on 4 attempts per game from 3 last year. So he's hardly a liability out there. Oladipo was the other "shooter" with Durant. He's okay, kind of like Ibaka, though more attempts. Westbrook doesn't count because his percentage is abysmal.
  4. It's a very good trade, but we'll see how it goes against GS. Ibaka was key because they could stay big. Draymond really struggled and now they have to guard him with a wing player. Oladipo is athletic, but not nearly as long as Ibaka. Their offense should be more diverse, but they still have 3 non-shooters in that lineup.
  5. Whoever designed the jerseys for that French guy's team deserves serious punishment.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Many things. Nothing Bulls, though. I wanted Skal there. Bleh. Skal makes Tyrus Thomas look like Hakeem Olajuwon.
  7. I don't see the big rush to move Butler. He's only 26, his contract is about to be a massive steal, and they'll still get decent picks even if they don't get lucky. Even the 4th worst team only has a 11.9% chance to win it, it's a crap-shoot. If it's an overwhelming deal, then okay, but this doesn't look like that.
  8. That's pretty great for OKC considering they don't let Ibaka do much anyways. They're not forced to play Roberson or Waiters now. He should find good shots with the two studs and he'll also be a useful second creator when they sit Durant or Westbrook. The one downside is they lose a lot of defensive flexibility with Ibaka. His length and switching helped a lot against GS. Edit for large brainfart.
  9. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:51 PM) WOJ BOMB! Ibaka going to Orlando. Interested to see details. Oladipo, Ilyasova and Sabonis going to the Thunder. I was going to rip them, but that's a haul.
  10. Also, the Celts supposedly turned down Noel, Covington, 24 and 26 for 3. I think they'll regret that, especially after taking Brown.
  11. WOJ BOMB! Ibaka going to Orlando. Interested to see details.
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) Sigh.. not comparing their shooting Joe, stay with me. I was comparing the question marks about running the point, and yes Steph had those same question marks. More of a small SG, weak defensively, etc. It's still an awful comparison. LaVine didn't even start in college while Curry was doing crazy s***. Steph was also better as a rookie than I ever expect to see from LaVine.
  13. Before I go too far down this rabbit hole, I would obviously be fine with LaVine if we had drafted him or got him cheap. I don't think he's remotely worth being the #2 piece for Butler.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) He did that this year. 39% from 3 while taking almost 4 per game. Again, something besides dunk and be a mid/high 30's 3-point shooter. That's basically a young JR Smith (I don't think he's THAT big of a headcase obviously).
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) He has the tools you can work with though. Not gonna write off a kid that young just yet. Steph Curry had the same issues coming out about learning to play the point and he was getting 36 minutes as a rookie the same age as LaVine. The only things I question with LaVine is his basketball I.Q. and if he cares enough to be passible defensively. Yes, let's compare him to the best shooter of all time. Steph averaged 6 assists as a rookie while playing with Monta Ellis. Not remotely the same thing. Basketball IQ and defense are what will keep him from being good unless there's major improvement.
  16. I was about to write about how awful a fit Chriss is, but then he gets traded. Phoenix is much more interesting, though he's still a project.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) He's 21. Way too early to be saying that. Kid is a very gifted athlete. Now, obviously that's not saying much since a lot of athletes bust, but the upside is much bigger than a 6th man. A lot of guys are gifted athletes. He needs to do something besides dunk and do a decent job shooting 3's to be a top guy on a contender.
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) He just turned 21. Great. Wake me up when he learns to play point. Otherwise, meh.
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 07:13 PM) I would bet at least 2 of the 3 are as well. I would bet Dunn long before the other 2. I don't think Hield or Murray are versatile enough to be great.
  20. That would have been awful for the Bulls. LaVine is a 6th man on a legit team. Well, maybe not because JR Smith and Richard Jefferson just started for the champs, but I don't see him being a key contributor.
  21. Someone from 2-10 will probably be good, I just wouldn't want to bet which guy. I definitely wouldn't pick Brown. I think 3rd year for his potential breakout at best, right about when he stops being cheap. Edit: meant 3-10. Simmons could be great and I think Ingram is at least solid.
  22. I don't see Russell and Ingram happening, but it's hard to predict stupid. I would have said Clarkson and 2, but I've read that they LOVE Clarkson. I could deal with tanking if they can get Ingram. I'm not confident that Ingram will be a star, but I would be surprised if he's not a very good starter.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 11:15 AM) Rondo was pretty awesome again last year. Sure, if you only look at his assist totals. Sacramento pushed the pace and played zero D, so he blended in. Awful shooting/offensive efficiency, useless without the ball, bad D, and he's bit of a malcontent. BMAGS doesn't want to watch Robin Lopez, I don't want to watch Rondo loaf on D and dribble for 15 seconds until passing for a jumper.
  24. Please no Rondo unless your goal is to stealth-tank. He's always had huge flaws, now he doesn't even pretend to play defense and just tries to pad his assist totals.
  25. At least Lopez is goofy. We'll probably get some good comedy from a mascot incident.
