If Moncada can play right field, would be a great move. Never going to happen, but I digress

Didn't want to start a new thread. Zack Godley got dfa'd by Arizona. He's a lot more interesting than Gohara

Well, there goes my perfect offseason of trading for Greinke and signing Cole.

I feel like Vaughn is getting punished for past Sox draft picks. If the Sox took Kelenic last year, I guarantee more people would be for Vaughn. Not saying Abrams can be a future allstar, but, I'm not trusting the Sox to develop him. I think the Sox shouldn't overthink it and draft Vaughn, dude can flat out hit. Sucks he's a 1b/dh only, but he's an elite hitter and potential middle of the order bat.

Let's say Rutschman and Vaughn go 1 and 2. Who do you guys think the Sox would take in that scenario?
Better be Witt

Still think Covey would make a great opener

I wonder if they might try Covey in the rotation in Charlotte one more time.

Good:
Moncada and Anderson keep improving.
Eloy goes .275 33 hr 92 rbi
Giolito has an era in the mid 4's
Bullpen is solid
Palka gets 30 dingers
Jimmy Lambert gets some starts in the bigs this year.
Bad:
Abreu continues to decline
Lopez and Rodon are more 3 & 4's than 1 and 2's
Engel is still the starting CF in September
Palka still isn't passable in the OF
The Sox win 73 games

Besides Madrigal, the Sox are weak up the middle in the minors. Seems like a solid get if they can land hin.

Speculation was they are trying to move Leon.
Leon was put on waivers. Good defensive catcher.

Stop. Our talent under 25 has no comparison. It’s not even close IMO, and I’ve checked into the farms of the padres and braves.
I’d still bet on Moncada being the better player over Tatis- dude has bust written all over him to me.
Dont look at the Ray's then

Is that 3 3rd base gloves and 2 shortstop gloves?
-
It would never happen, but I wouldn't mind seeing the DH go away. Don't let the pitcher bat, just the 8 position players. Theoretically, those 8 become more important and could command more money.

No more half measures. They're going all out. If they don't get Machado, they did all they could. No shame in that.

I can't be the only one that thinks the Sox are using Machado to sign Alonso to a long term deal.

He seemed like a good fit for the Sox. Knowing Seattle, you should be able to trade for Kikuchi by June.

I can't see any reason for Machado to follow the YES network for any other reasons. Can the people who think this means nothing give a good excuse? Is he just interested to see how they cover him before he makes a choice? Maybe he will follow NBCSN Chicago or Philly soon too, or maybe it's all a tactic to drive the Sox or Phillies to panic and offer more?
I just can't wait for this shit to all be over.
Could be a big Brooklyn Nets fan.

I’m torn on Covey. My gut says he’s better suited for a relief role where he doesn’t have to face guys more than once, but he looked so good for that stretch last year.
He seems like he would be a good fit with Tampa Bay's opener strategy.

Why did you send your wife to get a TV lol.
Because we already agreed on the tv. All she had to do was go get it while she was out. It wasn't in stock at the store. Moral of the story, Haper/Machado or nothing.

Could go with Vodoo Child too, sexy opening guitar lick.
