Hell for the seahawks Matt Hasselback would be an all-time bear. We definitely win the super bowl in 06 with him.

But anyway, I do get some of the angst where it Bears have been chasing the QB a lot recently and spending a lot of assets on it where maybe we end up like the Stafford lions or now...herbert chargers.

But that's the nice thing about this year, we don't have to chase! It's just being handed to us. Yeah, maybe not the worst thing you go Fashanu/Marvin Harrison and go another year with Fields under Ben Johnson or shane waldron. But it could also be the slingshot to a new era.

This QB class looks ridiculously deep. CBS has 12 QBs in their top 80.

Depending on how well Williams does in this toughhhhh stretch of games coming up, I think I may consider looking at taking a QB in the 2nd round and making it a legit QB competition between that guy and Fields under a new head coach.

Fields has been facing bad defenses, BUT he's also been beating them via the air which is what is interesting.

He has, but he was still fitting balls into tight coverages and putting the ball where it needs to be regardless. He really hasn't really feasting on wide open throws because said teams are bad.

The Panthers are going to get the 1.1 and the Bears will then have one heck of a decision especially if they are sitting around 1.6.

If Fields continues looking like the guy then the 1.1 haul could be epic but for or against.

Man... I think I posted just a few days ago that I'd still draft Williams, but if Justin keeps playing like this for 12 more weeks, I think you gottttta stick with him....Again, this assumes 12 more weeks of looking like an MVP candidate.

If they can do Moore type trade again for an impact DLineman that'd be huge....Like replace Moore with Maxx Crosby or something.

  4. Man, I was starting to believe for a minute. Not believe that they were playoff caliber, but believe they were not all that bad. I know Denvers D is the hottest of all garbage, but Justin was still making plays he needed to start making regardless of how bad their D is. Made a few tight coverage throws which we haven't really seen much of and he was throwing in the face of some pressure. Regardless of how bad their D is, the pressure and tight coverage on some of those throws was encouraging.

Those last 2 turnovers though and just the overall loss totally killed my good vibes though.

Zach Martin unhappy in Dallas. Bears have the cap space to pay him and the draft picks to make a trade. Get it done.

Ehhhhh, I'll pass. He's 32 and the Bears, on paper at least,  are good at guard.

Kmet signed an extension.  3 years 50 million with 34 guaranteed. I like it.

Kmet last year, on a team that threw it less than any other team in the league finished 13th in yards, 3rd in TDs, and among the top 13 TEs he finished 5th in YPC.

Arguably a top 10 TE with those numbers last year, I think this year he makes an unquestionable leap into the top 10.

Front court size and rim protection are also lacking.  That's a lot of deficiencies.  You wouldn't know who constructed that roster, would you?😃

Real disappointed they didn't get Mo Bamba. At this point I'd give Bol Bol a shot. I don't think he's ever gonna be great, but he was a good rim protector and definitely adds size.

They've added shooting and if you squint real hard Carter looks like he could be a starting level PG.

Has the Ball exception gone through??

I get it - but these were the type of moves he should have made last offseason as insurance for Ball. He didn’t and thus the franchise wasted a year in pure mediocrity. If they wanted to roll - at deadline upgrade the position - no excuse find a way…that way they could have figured out this past year whether there was more upside or not.

Now they are semi locked in. Not totally cause you can always flip switch this deadline I suppose.

With that said - I didn’t mind what they did. None of the moves so far stink - it’s more I don’t see them being enough to be more than a 6/7/8 seed and a team that doesn’t have upside beyond that as constructed.

Isn’t Brogdon in last year of his deal. I know he gets hurt but why not him?

I will say the Dragic move ended up being a really bad one. They were looking to get a bridge guy back to Ball and failed. He wasn't too far removed from being good though so I kinda understood it. But yeah, that failed. They went out and got Pat Bev too late.

Still though the "Big 3" AKME put together has shown it kinda works when there's a competent PG involved. Carter looks like he can be that guy. Not sure he has the same top end vision that Ball has, but if you watch his highlights, the dude can pass the rock. He also gives you top end defense like Ball did. There were talks in the Milwaukee media about him deserving All Defensive team consideration....Mix that in with bring 10th in 3P% on a pretty high volume and I think they may have got a guy here.

  8. Are we talking starting, production wise?? PWill is the same size as Aaron Gordon and he worked out well as the starting PF for the champion Nuggets.

Isn't that kind of the trend now anyways?? Teams are getting smaller and positionless?

I'm all for moving Williams to the bench though. I wish he'd just learn to be more aggressive alllll the time.

They have went two years - akme is hAhn. No excuse. If you need to flip other parts, you should have done it.

We don't know what's gone on with the info they got regarding Balls injury. This time last year we were under the impression Ball would be back last season weren't we?

What other parts should they have flipped?

AKME painted themselves into a corner and handcuffed themselves to a mediocre roster.  Not losing assets for nothing is hardly something to celebrate when the team as is is going nowhere and has little to no room for growth or hope for improvement.  They mortgaged the immediate future and hard-capped themselves for a “competitive” team that isn’t good enough.

They got handcuffed because their 80 million dollar point guard, whom they were having success with, got injured.

Hard to say if they are/were a title contender with him or not, but weren't they top 5 in offense and defense. They put together a team that worked...they just got hit with bad luck..

The team needs a real point guard if they want to contend. What do they do - spend more money on bench players. Dumbasses.

Outside of VanFleet, who was out there? You want Rus?? Trade for Harden??

Carter was stuck behind Holliday and played well as the starter when Jrue was out.

The contract itself is fine.  Running it back with basically the same roster though is thoroughly uninspired.  The org is stuck in neutral and this is another signing that doesn’t move the needle.

It's an upgrade over Pat Bev and they weren't God awful with him.

Seriously.  I think outside of adding a star, some bull fans aren't gonna be happy.

Everyone screams about them needing more 3 point shooting and then scoff at them adding a guy who finished 10th in 3P%.

  13. I remember watch a game where Carter absolutely went on an insane heater and was wondering who tf he was.

I like the signing a lot actually.

Looking at the Bucks lineups here, Carter was a part of the Bucks best starting 5 in terms of +/-.  Carter was also part of the Bucks second most used line up in terms of minutes played.....That's on the #1 team in the east.

Lots of Bucks fans think he's a starting quality PG.

Oh and he's a DAWG. From a defensive standpoint he's probably right up there with Lonzo.
