It's too early to give up on Montgomery. But his potential has gone from nearly a sure thing to iffy. The White Sox have two interesting prospects for third base, shortstop, or second base in Baldwin and Gonzalez at AA Birmingham.

Why not? Nastrini has a very respectable ERA of 5.83 for Charlotte in six starts.

Why bother?

Fletcher deserves to be called up; he's hitting a solid .238 at Charlotte.

If Fedde continues to pitch well until July, Getz might be able to trade him for a 36-year-old reserve infielder.

Two through five in last night's game went a robust 0-16.

Let's not get excited about a 36-year-old Pham. He had a couple of decent seasons with the Cardinals six or seven years ago.

You don't rebuild with the players he acquired in this past off-season.

Disappointing win.

How has White Sox management's love for failed former first-round picks going? With that in mind, it's obvious that Shewmake isn't the answer at shortstop. How about promoting Brooks Baldwin and saying goodbye to Shewmake? Baldwin is a switch hitter. As far as Montgomery goes, see if he can figure it out at AAA, or perhaps drop him to Baldwin's spot at Birmingham. It's too early to make a judgement on Montgomery, but so far AAA seems a little rich for his blood.

I understand the team has to play these games because of revenue, but this season is beyond ridiculous. It's not even laughable anymore. It's pathetic.

In his last 10 games Maldonado is hitting a lusty .000. He's hitless in 20 at bats.

Look at that lineup. Oy!

Timmy has one extra base hit in 63 at bats for Miami so far.

I check out the MILB stats nearly every day. It only takes a few minutes. I see very little on the farm teams to get excited about so far. Maybe, they're rating them on potential and not reality.

Moncada has always been as fragile as a porcelain teacup. I won't miss him. The same goes for Jimenez.

On the bright side, Benintendi appears to be the ideal lead off hitter. Through the eight games he's hitting a respectable .094 and he's already scored a run. The $75 million commitment is money well spent.

Even though Shaw took the loss, he lowered his Spring ERA to a more respectable 24.92.

Shaw, nine pitches, five hits and six earned runs. Pretty impressive.

I'm surprised at how close the game is.

I liked Buehrle, but he's not even close to being a Hall of Famer.

I've never liked LaRussa, even during his first turn with the White Sox in the 80's. But, even though he's a sleepy 100 year old and had an awful year in 2022, I would rather have him manage the 2024 White Sox than Grifol. I saw no redeeming managerial skills exhibited by Grifol in 2023.

Woodford has a very respectable ERA of 5.26 this year at Charlotte.
