  1. This is NOT the same as Yankees/A's in 2001. Those first two games the Yankees lost were close and competitive. They didn't get their s*** rocked like the Cubs are.
  2. I wanna punch Frank Caliendo in the face.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) They just showed that in 1999, the Indians and Red Sox played a Game 5. I remember watching that game, and our very own Jim Thome hit one of the longest homers I've ever seen against Saberhagen. That was the game Pedro came in and dominated in relief. I was watching it in my dorm at SIU. Loved it. Didn't the immortal John Valentin hit a grand slame?
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) If you're a Friday Night Lights fan with Directv, don't forget it starts tomorrow. I'll have to remember to look it up on torrent.
  5. Ha Ha. Cub fans don't deserve anything. Boo DeRosa and Lee and Soriano and Aramis. You can hardly blame Zambrano for tonight.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Shouldn't Piniella pull Zambrano for a possible start in game 5? Like how he pulled him early in Game 1 last year to save him for Game 4?
  7. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) The way I look at it is that we are playing with the house's money,we weren't expected to win the AL central and here we are,we still got a shot vs the Devil Rays tomorrow...on the other hand the Cubs had the best record in the NL and home field advantage and expected to at least get to the WS and now it looks like they are gonna not even get past the 1st round, sure sucks to be a Cubs fan. This is how I feel. Don't get me wrong, I will take it very hard if we lose tomorrow, but this is making my day.
  8. Great fans on the north side.

QUOTE (SnB @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) never expected a win today, need mark to come up huge again tomorrow. Ditto. This is why I'm not all that upset. If we lose tomorrow, it will be tough for me to take.
  10. CC Sabathia vs. Brett Myers...Game 2. 5:10pm CT, Thursday! Bases loaded walk in the first gets Brewers up 1-0. That maybe all CC needs.
  11. Right guy on the mound. I believe in Mark!
  12. Heads got us to the playoffs but couldn't come through when it counted. Typical Iowan.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Why was Swisher ok to bat in the 9th for Uribe, but not in the 7th? Ugh...I hate you Javy. Wish I knew. Wish I knew. For all we know, Swish would of K'd looking, but would of liked his chances better than Juan.
  14. Too bad we couldn't get 1 or 2 when we had bags loaded and 1 out. Go get em, Mark.
  15. QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) No one looks masculine shaking those itty-bitty wrist "cowbells". Looks like they are rubbing one off when they shake em.
  16. I think the announcers thought Paulie's would be foul.
  17. Let's get the tying run up there.
  18. Danks is pitching Game 3. Floyd Game 4.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) I can't help but to think what this game would have looked like had he started. Not gonna lose sleep wondering. I was fine with Vazquez starting. I was way off. I won't make that mistake again.
  20. Nice job, Clayton. It's amazing how much better he has gotten since his first few appearances.
  21. Paulie is awesome at 1st.....
  22. Is Richard about to throw at Longoria?
  23. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:48 PM) It might be nice if next year we can teach our guys how to shorten their swings up on 2 strikes with men on. Especially the small non-linebacker types. Bases loaded and we have big swings and no idea of what a strike is. Carl Everett drove me nuts sometimes, but he was awesome at shortening his swing with 2 strikes.
