Fedde was filthy last out. I'll be watching for the same today. Best stuff on the team, IMO.

One of the few good moves by the Reinsdork regime was realizing that Abreu’s career was waning and they didn’t re-sign him.
Equally amazed at who signed him. A team that’s supposed to know talent.

Wilson had/has had ONE save in his entire big league career, fwiw.
1/6 in save situations after tonight.
And Kopech's had two. Pedro was going to put in Mariano Rivera but he's not on the team. His fast ball was humming, but batters sit on it and hit it. Credit to him for using the slider more tonight.

You old enough to remember Juan Disgusto? (Agosto)
I should have mentioned that he was an inept reliever here, wound up in Pittsburgh, added a pitch and became the hottest reliever in the NL.

Right now he isn’t doing anything right. What really concerns me is when he was drafted he was thought to be very advanced, and selective. The first time I saw him bat in a spring training game, he only swung at strikes. He seemed destined to be a 90 plus a year walk guy, high OBP and big power. The two scouting reports I read were he was the second coming of Goldschmidt, and another said he was Konerko on steroids. He’s nor even Lamar Johnson on steroids.
AV plays the outfield like Lamar Johnson.

You know what, he's never going to get another managing gig anyways so how about...."I have absolutely no talent here. These guys suck." Maybe the team will rally around that...and yes I know that won't happen.
Hate to get prehistoric here, but Mr. Cub of his day (before Ernie Banks), Phil Cavaretta, was player/manager, told Mr. Wrigley the same and wound up canned and on the White Sox, where he was welcome.

That tells me they're trading LaVine and his $43M for some needed frontcourt size and athleticism. But at DMD's age it's a dead end. Need to hit the jackpot in the draft.

And Jose Abreu is a -1.1 WAR after 51 ABs and a -22 OPS+.
#79 is his birth year. Who sez? I sez.

This has to be the result of the new hitting coach being brought in to improve the fly ball rate. Either hasn't worked yet or isn't going to and everybody's swing is biffed up.

Woulda beat Miami in the play-in last season if Zach didn't disappear in the second half. Redemption Friday!

How would you like to have in your job description "explain every why your bunch of mediocre fielders that are mostly hitting under Mendoza just lost again."
I'm not saying he's not an idiot, but how many losses can he be blamed for this season? Yes, he comes off as defensive. Wouldn't you or I?

When apathy and the weight of losing piles on, it can absolutely get worse.
Coaches that say things like "eventually it's going to have to turn around" are coaches that have ZERO answers.
I'll provide some answers for him. He was charged with coming in and increasing the fly ball rate and it's not working for a bunch of singles (at best) hitters. Everybody's in deep [stuff].

Watch they'll sell off somebody. That seems to be the organizational M.O. lately.
I'll be watching. They need Nostradamus more than Nastrini Right About Now.

Best part of Palka's hot streak was that Pałka is the Polish word for bat!

Kopech one slider in two innings. He needs another reliable pitch, just like Hendrix did, although his 100+ is faster and moves more than Hendrix's did. I'm not just being a downer, I loved what I saw tonight.

He doesn't look fat to me.
He's got those short, thick thighs that have a tendency to cramp up. He needs stretching exercises not muscle builders and I bet he's doing the wrong regimen.

That was a mistake.
My night is now ruined.
It got the FO fired, if timing means anything, so was it all bad?

Kopech as a closer will not be good for my blood pressure
He is what he was and that's not what a closer needs to be. I'm not sure if I want to call him a weak minded airhead. 100+ now is to hitters like 95 used to be and there isn't much else. All he would need is one more reliable pitch for a 3-4 batter stint. So, you keep trying new guys until you find one that sucks the least. Billy Beane said that he could make anyone into a closer and he was never wrong. 😁
The rotation is looking better. Crochet looks like a physical Titan, Fedde's stuff has me super impressed and Clevinger will give us an honest day's work.
As far as the new PBP, he's got better broadcasting skills than Jason and he's less irritating. Jason was better at basketball than baseball, but hoops can make anyone sound good. All the negative things I've seen about Jason on this board over the years were forgotten for a few weeks, but sanity seems to have returned.

It isn't right but fans are more willing to forgive having unsavory characters if their team is actually good and/or the player is a premium talent. The White Sox are going to be atrocious this year with or without Clevinger and he is a mediocre pitcher.
Mediocre is damn fine Around This Place.

And sitting in favor of 700 OPS Andrew Vaughn, the untouchable, .9 WAR first baseman (DH on any other team).
At least Stone has stopped saying that he's gonna be a monster. Only if he grows another head.

Jake Burger went 3-for-4 with three RBI on Thursday in the Marlins’ Opening Day loss to the Pirates.
Figures.
Look at the bright side. The Burger trade likely got two guys fired.

Grifol would have preferred to start someone really good who could give you 6 and keep it a game. I can't think of the guy's name. Can anyone? I mean the guy has to be on the team as of now.
Katz? He's got a method and it doesn't fit everyone. Different method, but same problem as Cooper. At least Katz is aware of the science of throwing a baseball more than Don was.

These bozos are placeholders and nothing more. The big question is about what if anything is going on down below. I have big doubts.
