  3. the few games I remember are Oregon trail of course, then one with an alligator where you chomp on numbers, and the third was real fun one with gorillas/monkeys where you had to move em around to get em smallest on top biggest on bottom or something? anyone remember this one?

  4. My friend back in Illinois (I'm in Florida) just had a kid. He's a huge cubs fan so naturally I'm looking to buy his newborn son a nice whitesox outfit  Now lets see who is good at googling because I need to find one online to send to him...

  5. This is my first year living out of Illinois and I just realized that I can only watch the games broadcast on WGN. Just wondering how any of you other out of staters watch the sox? Is there a package on one of the satellites or soemthing? Right now I only have digital cable, and I'm not even sure if my apartment faces the right way to get satellite here. Needless to say I'm getting very nervous....

  6. I believe that the old fox sports got dropped and then it read something like, Comcast coming on april 1st 2005 or thereabouts. It was at my parents house that I saw this. Fox sports got dropped back in like oct or nov but I know for a fact it said they were getting comcast juts not sure the exact date but somewhere around opening day

  7. Did anyone click the link for best and worst cities for men???

    Here's an interesting tidbit lol

    The Limpest Cities

    1. Chicago, IL

    2. Washington, DC

    3. Atlanta, GA

    4. Detroit, MI

    5. Houston, TX

  8. My fave is the, I think its the puerto rican day parade one. It is the one where George , Jerry and Kramer all end up at the ladies apartment or whatever and use fake names to act like they all want to buy the place. One of the funniest scenes ever. Just choosing one episode is hard to do though, that is just ONE of my favorites.

  9. I need a good media player I have been using windows media player and I have used winamp in the past but I really didn't like either of them. I want one that is easy to use and keeps my music organized. I also want one that can rip cd's fairly fast. What do you all use or recommend?

  10. I have actually been using monster and careerbuilder to look for entry level jobs, but the problem that I am having is weeding out the schemes and jobs that make you pay to start and all that crap. I have had so many times that I had got a call back, been excited for an interview only to find out they wanted 1000$ for me to start working for them. Another job interview I drove 3 hrs to, got up at 4 am only to find out they were a pyramid marketing scheme, boy I felt like an idiot. So yeah monster and careerbuilder do help, but if you look up marketing in Chicago I bet at least 2/3 of the jobs are the kind I have described.

  11. Have you considered hooking up with a head hunter? There are several that don't charge fees to you, and they will do all the leg work in getting you in the door. A ton of downtown companies only hire this way. The only problem is that you usually start out on a temp to perm basis. Ya gotta mind your P's & Q's until they take you on full time.  ;)

    steff,

is a headhunter just an employment/placement agency or are they something else? I have used a placement agency here in bloomington and i have had little luck so far. I would definitely consider a headhunter in chicago. The hardest task I have is getting in the door, I feel like once I get in, I am confident they will like the work i do.

  12. Texsox,

Thanks a ton for the advice. It really puts things into a different light for me. I am going to do what you said, and hopefully when I get there I will be lining up for interviews. I should have enough work to keep me busy until I get there as well. Would you or anyone else happen to have a link or anything where I can find out about the future outlook for industries?

    thanks again

  13. Ok, I graduated in may and I'm having one helluva time finding a job down here in good ole bloomington, IL. I have done a few temp jobs since may but not much really. I just found out a few of my old HS friends live up in chicago now and they said I can come up stay with them for a few weeks and job hunt. So I'm going to go next week and try the nice large chicago market. Just need some tips on how to job hunt in chicago. Should i just use newspapers or how should I go about it? I don't have any connections in Chicago or anything, so I can't do any networking til I meet some people really. Around here I used the paper, and I knew a few people but nothing came of any of these routes.

Thanks everyone, just really frustrated and any tips would be great.

  14. Everyone down here on the news/radio in Orlando is saying the winds in downtown Orlando could exceed 100mph is Frances continues on her course. Charley had gusts around 100mph in Orlando and I still see the damage all over downtown Orlando. I'm sure glad I'm not 60 miles east of here. But if it does come this way I'm gonna have my camera out and I'm I'll have some interesting pictures for you all once it passes.
