  1. Forget him as a backup plan for Jenks. i want to see Cotts in the pen for this season and then throw him into the rotation. I dont see any reason to keep a front of the line pitcher in the pen when he could be making 30+ starts a year.

    I like how the sox are starting their young starting pitchers (Mccarthy) in the pen for a few years and the moving them to the pen.

  2. There was nothing interesting in the interview (wrestling and florida gators stuff) but Buster Olney did grade the sox and predict a win total.

    Starting pitching: A-

    Bullpen: B+

    Lineup B+

    Defense: B

    Wintotal: 96-98

    I was really surprised (so was AJ) when he gave the starting pitching only an A-. If the sox get that I sure hope no other team gets a higher grade than that.

    Polish does.

    I totally agree! I had my first polish in the ALCS last year and I have been dreaming about another one since. Just 46 days til my next one!

    By far the best food at the ball park.

  4. I got a gray Buehrle and a mock vest Cotts from Triple Threat and they are both awesome. The cotts is a little thinner than the Buehrle but they both feel great and look great as well. I always get a comment when i wear either one. It took about a month to get the Buehrle and about 2 weeks to get the cotts. TTS does good work and is very affordable.

  5. maybe its just me, but i dont have a huge problem with bandwagoners. I mean everyone likes sold out stadiums and a large fan base so this increase in fans has to come from somewhere. Hopefully these bandwagoners have kids who then become true Sox fans. i think all that is important is that people knew you were a true fan before the sox won it all.

  6. I too was very upset when i read this. When i got the ozzie plan, i made sure to get tickets to the first game against the A's because all signs pointed to him signing there and I wanted to cheer and welcome him home.

    Now, not so much.

    I supported him the whole time he was here and defended even his most outragous comments. But because of these comments and his whole attitude while he was I think perhaps he deserves more boos than cheers when May 22nd comes around -- even if he is the great white sox player ever.

    I still, however, am torn with what I will do when that comes up.

    Does anyone know if the trophy tour will extend outside Chicagoland? I know a lot of Sox fans here in Northern Indiana (South Bend area) who'd love to see it.

    I was in mundelein today too (outside in line for 1 hour 20 mins) and all the us cell workers had shirt on with the sched. In late january and feb the trophy will leave chicagoland and go to NW indiana and all around the state. i even noticed that it will be going to Quincy, IL. (which is 5 hours away and an interesting move because that is where my girlfriend is from and it is a 70% cards town and 29% cubs town. They dont even mention the sox in their paper. They have a cubs section and a cards section and I am always furios when I am there reading the paper because the sox are closer than the cubs so it should be logical that they like the sox there. oh well that is my rant.)

    But yes, longer answer but the trophy will be all around the state and NW indiana, quincy, bloomington, champaign, and others IIRC.

  8. Oh man I have recently been introduced to Popeyes spicy fried chicken and biscuits and I am addicted. There are none around my house so sometimes when I am driving I stop and load up on it even if I am not hungry. I have had it for dinner now about 3 times a week since I started to go to grad school at loyola. MMMMMM

    I totally disagree. Did you see who BA was jumping up and down with and talking to in the dugout. Yeah, I thought so . . .

    I saw he was talking to Arow, but he is a happy go lucky kid with a great personality. It will be like trading arow for a youger better arow, in my opinion. Plus adding a Thome. I still love it and i love BA's personality.

  10. QUOTE(Reddy @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:34 PM)
    see i'm worried about the Chemistry being f***ed.  without rowand are Pierz and Crede (especially Crede) as loose and funloving and - well - good?  i dunno and it worries me.

    did you see how Brian was acting during Pods walkoff (see new DVD) It seems like he is great in the clubhouse. I am not worried about this at all, Chemistry might even be better now that Carl is gone. I love this trade and Kenny is a genius! It looks like back 2 back for us!

  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:23 PM)
    This trade will not turn out well.

    I'm saying this now. I truely believe this.

    I dont dont understand how it could possible turn out bad! We move arow, who is good defensively and average offensively, and great in the club house. We get a masher who is great offensively and great in the club house. We also will add BA who is great defensively and maybe below average offensively. And by the looks of the the way he was acting on the bench during the play offs he will be great in the club house. so my equation looks like this:

    Great Defense (BA) + Great offense (thome) + Great chemisty (BA) + Great Chemisty (Thome) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Great defense (AROW) + average offense (AROW) + Great chemisry (AROW) + bad chemisty (CARL)

    It looks like a total winner to me. of course maybe not if thome gets hurt and BA sucks. BUT I give it a BIG thumbs up!

    I will still miss AROW though, i was a big fan. BUt i think i will be a bigger BA fan!

    GO sox and GO Kenny!

  12. In one of the game against the Royals towards the end of the year there was a fly towards left center with two outs. Both the left and center fielder were there and then peeled away leaving the ball to drop in for a hit and allow a run to score.

    That was the hardest i laughed all year. It was such a typical play of a bad team (the royals) and a break that good teams like us capitalize on.

    I tried to explain it to my girl friend over the phone and she did think it was too funny. So maybe i am just crazy

  13. ok i live in Deerfield and have a general knowledge of the city, but does anyone have any recommendations on how to get to the rally? Should i drive to the city and take the el over? Should i park downtown somewhere? Any suggestions coming from the northern burbs would be great! There arnt many of us sox fans up here!
