  1. Gov. Pat Quinn is giving motorcyclists the green light to run red lights.

The governor signed legislation Friday allowing motorcycles to proceed at a red light if it has been that way for longer than two minutes, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The law, which goes into effect immediately, takes into account that some automatic lights don't sense the motorcycle's presence because of a bike's lighter weight, making the light remain red longer than if a four-wheel car was at the intersection.

The law also requires that the roadway is clear before a motorcyclist drives through the red light.

The legislation was approved by the Illinois House and sent to the governor in May of 2011.

The city of Chicago is exempt from the legislation.

He has too much interest from other teams. He'll get more than the MLE. Unless he wants to take a Chicago discount, but i'm not sure why he would.

His wife and kid still live here and he loves Chicago. I have a business right by the Berto center and all the Bulls and coaches come in. Kurt was heartbroken when he was traded and he still comes in during the summer months. I would always kid with him and say, when you coming back to the Bulls. He would always reply with, I wish.

Wonder what they'd have to give up

NY package would include Iman Shumpert, Toney Douglas and likely 3 low money players to get Nash salary needed to close gap on Toronto offer

Aaron Portzline, great writer for the Columbus Dispatch and covers the Jackets, reports that the Hawks are interested in Luongo and just have to find a way to work out the obvious money issue.

    Check out his twitter: @Aportzline.

I don't know how I feel about this. If the Canucks are going to pay most of the money and the Hawks don't have to give much up, I wouldn't be totally against it, but Luongo is like LeBron except LeBron finally figured out his postseason issues. Will Luongo ever do that?

The Canucks cannot pay the money. Another contract would have to go the other way for it to work. All of his cap hit would go to the Hawks.

Again according to Hawk, it started bothering him right around the start of the season. Why he didn't wind up getting extra rest or goign on the DL, might have been part the lack of confidence in his backups and part the fact that it wasn't just his back he was dealing with, it was some sort of dietary issue/weight loss as well.

I read somewhere that he had it coming into spring training.
