Just sucks to see such a flat effort after what Ozzie called "the biggest win of the season".

Most awkward player??? Perhaps Fred Manrique...but only because he looked like the ice cream truck driver in our neighborhood.

How were they celebrating?  I always turn the game right off after a loss.

The entire team ran out and they were jumping all over each other and piling on as if it were game 7 of the WS. A little over the top IMO.

We lost this game due to our terrible offense, as much as everyone wants to jump on Hermy this game should of been at least 4 or 5 to nothing going into the ninth.  I give the Padres pitcher credit, with the free long swinging team we have, you get ahead of our hitters you can mow them down like weeds.

 

Speaking of our terrible offense, isn't it time for PK to be dropped down to 5th or maybe even 6th in the lineup? Although it wouldn't have made much difference in this particular game but he has been miserable with RISP this year. I think a clean up hitter needs to be hitting at least .260 or above and he's been around .220 and .235 all year.

 

Perhaps we have Aaron bat 3rd, Frank 4th (AL parks obviously), PK or Dye 5th?

 

Just a thought. I remember DJ saying in Colorado that PK is hitting around .200 or so with RISP.

Thank the lord that KW pulled the trigger on that deal. Pods is the best thing that could have happened to this team.

Not unlucky at all...

 

The twins are a great team, pure and simple.

Think about it from their point of view:

 

"We are playing at full strength! We have the Cy Young winner and two of the top young hitters in the AL (Monreau & Mauer). We are playing at the TOP of OUR GAME!!....and we are STILL 4 games behind the White Sox who are now heating up in the hitting dept."

THAT is unlucky!!

 

 

Excellent point. As annoying as it is to see the Twins keeping pace, it must be much more annoying to Twins fans who are wondering "What the heck do we have to do to get in 1st place?!?! All we do is win games and we're still 4 games back!!"

It was worth getting little sleep to stay up and watch the offense go ballistic. Lets keep the momentum going into SD. Only worry is that Marte has pain in his bicep. Maybe he needs a few days off anyway since he hasn't been too stellar as of late.

I still don't understand why we would bench Crede against a lefty in Colorado.  He's been swinging pretty good lately, and he's obviously needed for his defense.  Maybe this performance tonight will show people that we can't count on Ozuna to fill in all season at 3B or SS.

 

What is there not to understand? Ozzie isn't big on having the best lineup in the finale of any series.
