  1. Why not use Viz here, Adkins will most likely let this game get out of reach.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) Not the Drays? Least they are winning for u. And they had a chance to blow the game WIDE open w/ the bases loaded and no outs, but only got 1 run.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Me too. Morgan Ensberg is my favorite non-Sox player. Can we trade him for Crede in the offseason
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) That s***ty ace on Houston has a 2 hitter through 8 innings tonight. Too bad his offense can't score s*** for him either.
  5. Boy this McClung character on TB sure reminds me alot of another pitcher in Chicago, not on this team........ An extremely overhyped one at that.
  6. This is just f***ing great, we get stuck in a rain delay a little too late, while Cleveland get's one too early!
  7. I hate to say it, but our 2 best pitchers getting bombed by Boston doesn't exude confidence in me come playoff time.
  8. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) You are right, he takes pitches ... the strikes. He swings at all the balls. at least he doesn't ground out on the 1st pitch ALMOST every time.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Can we trade Ozuna for Patterson? I'd do it in a heartbeat
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) Let me introduce you to Corey Patterson. At least he can take a few pitches
  11. Ozuna is, bar none, the worst leadoff hitter I've ever seen.
  12. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) The Angels can score runs and have decent pitching.. not to mention a great bullpen. We need to hit or like D.J. says... Bye, bye The angels offense hasn't been much better than ours, and there Bp has been getting lit up lately. I'll take my chances w/ them over Oakland or Boston in the 1st round.
  13. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Good, strong, solid, productive, monster inning. Is it just me or do AJ, Uribe, Crede look like they are always trying to go yard no matter what the score?
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) I was thinking today at work the following: We've been really struggling at maintaining our early leads lately. Quite a few times, we've jumped ahead to a quick 3 or 4 run lead, only for the opposition to make the game close during the middle innings. I'm not sure what the reason is, but we need to just put the team away when we get off to the fast start. Funny, i was thinking the exact same thing today. Either our starters pitch better in close games, or the other team is trying to go yard every ab in a close game, and when down by a big margin don't try and do too much
