  1. When is this topic going to get old?? unless they up the rosters to about 75 each there are always going to be "snubs". Thats baseball, thats life, DEAL WITH IT. Or better yet beef your numbers up to "phenomonal" instead of just "good enough" and you'll be on the damn team.

  2. I was just curious as to how everybody out there actually felt about our Sox announcer Ken "Hawk" Harrelson. He's the only announcer that I've really ever known for the Sox (besides DJ, Wimpy, and Harry of course) and I personally like him very much. I like his "Hawkisms" and the fact that he really seems to care about the team winning.

    The reason that I ask is because I happened upon a website that completely bashes him and is currently petitioning to get him removed. I found it very weird that someone who is a Sox fan actually dislikes him that much, and got to wondering how many others out there felt the same way.

    I would be content in the sports world.  Out of all my favorite teams (White Sox, Blackhawks, Bears, Bulls) I would be most elated if the White Sox were able to win.  I would not stop talking about it for the rest of my life.

    If they won, i don't know what I would do, because I cannot fathom it.

    I can fathom it and i already told my wife to get the insurance policy ready if they make it to the series. My heart would explode from sheer excitement.

    Maybe Crede bats 8th and doesn't make nearly the cash.

    :banghead

    Except, the last time I checked PK still led the team in HR's, RBI, and Runs scored, despite the s***ty BA

    Maybe we should all get on Pods' case cause its his job as a leadoff hitter to score the runs.

  5. How come everyone is so quick to bash Paulie and no one gives a crap that Crede is an automatic out. If the dude didn't play solid D he wouldn't have anything going for him. Now I understand that PK is hitting in the 4 hole and is expected to produce more than a lower lineup hitter, but WE ALL have noticed that, why hasn't the manager??? If PK isn't producing in the cleanup spot shouldn't it be Ozzie's fault for not moving him? :chair

    Signing Kong next year would be a waste of money.  He'll demand a lot of money and he's a 1 tool player.  He rarely hits to right field anymore, can't run, pops up like it's going out of style and hits awful with RISP.  Keep that money and use it to bolster the pitching staff. Have Dye play 1st He can start in spring training next year.  Carl can play RF next year.

    You never know maybe playing dye at first the other day had dual purpose. Maybe Ozzie was already thinking the same thing and wanted to see if it could work. Good thing about being a Sox fan is we've become accustomed to seeing good players go when they ask for too much money. So if we could get two or three players for the price of Pauly im all for it.

    Really, how much more do we need to see that Vizcaino is not the long relief answer. I can not remember a game where he came in and didn't give up at least one run. Time for some sort of move involving him. Shingo is also not a long relief answer.

    Im not trying to stick up for the guy cause Im not big on him either but he did pitch 2 1/3 scoreless on the 29th of June in extra innings of the Sox victory over the Tigers. Albeit he did surrender 4 hits and a walk.

    I just cringe when i see this guy come in when we are tied or leading by a run

    Just to update... This was from Saturday's Trib

    The attendance average is up to 26,505 after the Sox drew 105k to the park for the weekend series with the A's.

    It good to see that they are finally getting some support from the fans. :cheers

  9. In my opinion I think the Sox have done better this year against tough pitching than we have in recent years. Plus I dont know what the big deal is there are a whole lot more mediorce pitchers floating around then there are great ones.

    my 2 cents

    :unsure:

  10. QUOTE(brijames @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:01 PM)
    The White Sox are not a 30 game over .500 team. They played a great 1st half and made the most of every break.

    This 2nd half race will be very close before it's over. The Sox will have to scratch and claw for everything they get. They are not as bad as they played this Oakland series and not as good as how they played up to it.

    Who let Peter Gammons on this board????

  11. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 06:53 PM)
    The Angels, who have the second best record in the AL, just got swept at home in a four game series by the 39-48 Seattle Mariners.  We aren't the only team that goes into funks.

    Enjoy the All-Star Break.

    Enjoy the Best Record in Baseball and a 9 game lead in the division.

    Only the Cardinals have a bigger divisional lead.

    Go White Sox.

    And looking at the standings board you linked, 5 of the top 6 teams enter the break on a skid. Pretty weird stuff. :huh
