  1. Not to be too blunt..but whats the point of talking about a trade that will never happen??
  2. There is hilton magic.....much much better teams run into an unknown bermuda triangle effect. Salukis would lose there.
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 26, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) The ISU coach picture is a clusterf***. There's stuff going around with our AD saying our new coach's name hasn't been said in the media. Sites have reported its Kelly for sure, but there's some deafening silence, and other sites have made partial retractions. Kelly is a strange choice. he is an east coast guy with very little ties to the Big 12 region.
  4. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK KU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 REDEMPTION IS A FINE TUNE MY FRIENDS... oh and the walkon at the end of the game, what a loser i agree. Darrell Arthur and Julian Wright are an amazing 1-2 combo.
  5. We needs a upgrade at CF, LF and SS....oh brother
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 25, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) So our game tomorrow is at noon on espnu which of course I don't get at home. And the thing is, I doubt any of the sports bars are going to have the game on with football and such. Anyone have any suggestions? find a friend with directv?
  7. I watched it all too. jimmy dykes the color guy sucks as an announcer..He loves to hear himself talk.
  8. Jimmy Dykes is by far the most annoying announcer on TV..Shutup... OT!!!!! good game
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) Levine said yesterday that they were talking to baltimore under the broad umbrella of improving relief pitching. This was after the Cotts-Aardsma deal. Levine is always wrong, move on.
  10. MOTORIN..What your price.......
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 05:07 PM) I'd call it securing our position to compete in the division for the next 5 -10 years. We're not always going to be able to sign premium FA's, so we still have to develop our own talent. Thats the problem,we dont develop very well.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 05:00 PM) They played a quote from KW saying something along the lines of "We've been putting our feelers out there concerning deals, but it's only been feelers so far. We feel like we we're in a good position. We like all of our starters, but we feel like if there is a fit, where we can get major league talent and young pitching (read minor leaguer top prospects) in return, we'd be in better position for the future." this makes me feel like we are rebuilding..yikes.
  13. Arias has no offense, does he?? Volquez was lit up worse than any pitcher in the history of MLB in 10 games.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 04:53 PM) As in we just traded him to the Rangers? Cripes two of my absolute favorites gone in one day? Is this a done deal or just speculation as of this point. speculation...it is bruce levine
  15. To keep prospects or to turn them into another player...i just dont like trading someone you know will be good for the unknown. I very much dislike the premise of prospects.
  16. Bruuuuce the goose Levine said JG for young arms???
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) I don't see that Keith. Williams and Co. have been really low key about the off-season, but when asked about it, they have talked about the bullpen 1st. I will be shocked if we have another competition for the last spot in the bullpen coming into ST. There are going to be a few more moves for the pen this off-season, not a doubt in my mind. I do like the idea however about going into the Asian market. Bring Shingo back!!!
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) I agree completely. Can't say I'm too happy with this trade. THink about it like this, lets say Cotts demanded to be a starter, your going to have to see low in that circumstance.
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) Don't like it at all, I think KW just sold low on Cotts. you think Cotts demanded to be a starter??
  20. Left-hander Carlos Vasquez was traded from the Cubs to the White Sox in a three-player deal. Vasquez, a left-hander who turns 24 next month, had a 2.75 ERA and a 91/42 K/BB ratio in 85 innings of relief between Single-A Daytona and Double-A West Tenn last season. He qualified as one of the Cubs' better relief prospects, but he's not especially young and he still has to improve his command quite a bit.
  21. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Oh yeah, he's better than Tracey. Fathom, what do you think of the prospect we got? Could Aardsma be a final piece in another trade??
  22. QUOTE(daa84 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:23 AM) vasquez had some good #s at west tenn. the cubs AA affiliate 3-5 3.55 ERa 50.2 IP 41 H, 60 K....alot of walks though with 32 he was also 3-0 with a 1.57 ERA at hi A ....so he sounds like a fairly good prospect to me.....just judging on his high K rate and high walk rate im guessing hes got stuff, but needs to harness control well trade him before he even has a chance...this is the whitesox. I just thought of a very scary thing...boone logan as his replacement.
  23. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) The Cubs today acquired left-handed pitcher Neal Cotts from the White Sox in exchange for relief pitcher David Aardsma and minor-league pitcher Carlos Vasquez. More news to come. not another god forsaken Vasquez, i hate that last name.
