    I would imagine it works overseas unless the Chinese government blocks it. Usually extra innings is billed in four cycles, so you should be able to get it then cancel it. but don't hold me to that.

    Thanks! I'm going to give TW a call now.

    im just gonna cancel my subscription and get it on my timewarner cable. 52 inches of hdtv sounds much better then streaming crapola from mlb at work.

    dvr + extra innings = the sex.

    Do you have to pay for the whole year w/ timewarner (I'm too lazy to look)? I'm moving back to Chicago in late May so it really doesn't make sense for me to pay for the whole year. Also, does MLB.tv work internationally? In late July I'm going to China to work and I want to be able to at least catch a couple games.

    Yes I liked both of those movies.All the jokes were predictable and cliche in this one.Bad.

    That sucks. Thanks for saving me $15+.

    Run Fat Boy Run was about as unfunny as it possibly could have been.Bad brit comedies are even worse than bad american comedies.Dont pay to see this movie,do yourself a favor.

    I haven't seen it but I planned to. Did you like Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz? I enjoyed the hell out of both, so I figure it gives a good starting place for comparison.

  5. QUOTE(JorgeFabregas @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 02:10 PM)
    Scott Reifert's blog has been updated and says

    Lineup: Swisher, CF; Cabrera, SS; Thome, DH; PK, 1B; Dye, RF; AJ, C; Ramirez, CF; Crede, 3B; Uribe, 2B. Vazquez pitching.

    Yes, it has both Swisher and Ramirez playing CF.

    Seeing as how I may not see it this season, I am going to pretend it says Anderson, Cf; Ramirez, 2b; Fields, 3b...

    Whatever, just get a W and I'm happy.

    -_-

    Right now, DePaul is trash. With JLP and JW in charge I don't see that changing any time soon.

    I feel bad for Marquette. I think this is the first coach, for any sport, that the AD has had to hire (I could be way off). They should just hand it to Buzz Williams. He's a solid recruiter, and his one season at UNO was pretty impressive (despite a sub .500 record).

  7. My favorite movies have already been mentioned. However, here are some other "baseball movies" (using the term very loosely) that I watch if they are on TV (even though some are not that good): Brewster's Millions, Damn Yankees, Naked Gun (see pretty loose association, but hey it has Reggie Jackson), The Scout, Game 6, and the Ken Burns documentary is decent.

  8. I'm a big fan of BA, and I hope the guy lives up to his potential this year.

    Two (maybe three) years ago I met BA and McCarthy at Kendall's in Lincoln park. My buddies and I recognized them and sent them over a couple beers. The two waved us over (it was like 6 PM so the bar was pretty empty), and invited us to sit down. For the next hour and a half or so we just shot the s***. We really didn't talk much baseball, but it was a good time. They both seemed to have a good head on their shoulders (met Duhon another night and he was the complete opposite). Ever since then I have been a big BA fan.

  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 02:59 PM)
    Actually I think under those circumstances, we would wind up without pot, cigarettes, and alcohol.

    You really think so? I guess I never really though about it from that angle. It is a good point though.

    Personally, I don't know why people want pot to be illegal.

  10. The whole pot legality argument is skewed. Right now, only one side (those in favor of legalization) bear the burden of persuasion. If the argument started on a neutral basis, that is deciding whether pot should be illegal or not without it already being legal/illegal, I think the argument to make it illegal would be MUCH weaker than the argument to legalize it. Unfortunately, Rockefeller was able to handicap the argument.

    Tell me how I can play a computer game at my house with 4 other people. Oh wait, you can't.

    Lan party. The guy who lived next door to me my freshman year in college used to have them every once in a while. It used to crack me up watching all those dude drag there computers around (in suitcases) just so they could play in the same room.

  11. Let me preface this post by saying that I am Democrat who supports Obama. Sorry for the length…

    McCain strikes me as the type of person who would be really hard to beat in a general election. Now that he is the Republican candidate, he can back off of the over the top conservative/evangelical rhetoric (Iraq for 100 years, bomb Iran, thanking Hagee for the endorsement, etc.) and just be himself. Put this guy in office and I’m sure he gives Hagee a polite F you and never speaks with him again.

    The guy has a hell of a story, and just strikes me as an all-around bad ass. I mean, he wrestled, boxed, and dated a stripper. McCain finished near the bottom of his class at the Naval academy and tallied some 200 demerits. His teachers in flight school said he wasn't very good, and that he just didn't seem to give a sh*t. It’s not that he was dumb/incompetent, he just didn’t like having to conform. Once he gets to do things in the field, to be himself, he proceeds to be a hell of a pilot, and pilot instructor.

    He strikes me as an American leader. We love presidents with an attitude (not GWB attitude, I think he comes off as more stupid/stubborn). McCain has that. He has that American bravado. That swagger that you are not going to force his hand. He knows his sh*t, knows how to get sh*t done, and he doesn’t need you to tell him how. He’s not going to pander or beg; he’s going to tell. There is no doubt he will listen to others, you have to as the president, but that attitude will dictate the conversation. When a person has that strength, people know not to dick around and to get to the point. And if he doesn’t like what you have to say, he is going to let you know.

    I support Obama because he is what I want from a president (Intelligent, eloquent, etc.). However, something inside me knows that McCain would be a good president. Maybe his attitude will rub some people the wrong way, but he will still be able to get them to work with him. I’m sure you all have worked in groups with a McCainesque leader. You might not have enjoyed it, or even hated the guy/girl, but I bet your work was done well.

    Good grief that was a lot longer than I intended. Maybe if my civil procedure class was not so boring I would have paid attention rather than rambling on so long…

  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2008 -> 08:15 PM)
    Thanks again, turns out Senator Kennedy was here in the 1980s doing work for the farm workers. So the shirt was a big hit.

    Quick review. After the local guys spoke and gave the local slant (many, including two of our state Senators are endorsing Obama) Joe Kennedy, Senator Kennedy's nephew spoke. Rex, I'm working your side of the street for a minute, one word :wub: . After graduating he did two years in the Peace Corps stationed in the Dominican Republic and was just recently in Timur helping with the refuges. And damn, he is one good looking man. I'm guessing they are grooming him for the Kennedy seat in the Senate. He did about half his presentation in Spanish, playing well with this crowd. And I was later told his Spanish was not a poser.

    Then the Senator made his way to the stage. Great mix of historical Dem highlights with current issues. Spoke about Health Care, Education, Immigration, lots about a VA hospital in the area. We have over 50,000 Veterans in this area and the closest VA hospital is 5 hours away in San Antonio, and a few other issues, real general stuff. He showed his age as he made his way on stage and shook hands with the politicos in attendance. Once he started speaking, the polish was evident. You know he has delivered this speech, minus some details, thousands of times, but this time it was special. Or at least he made the audience feel that way.

    Obama will be here Friday morning for a 9:30 am rally. Nice that South Texas is getting some play. No need for a REP to visit.

    Off topic:

    About two years ago I was bored and decided to do a little research (unscientific internet research) about each of the Kennedy's (real life soap opera), and I seem to remember some controversy about Joe and a car accident when he was younger. I think someone was paralyzed when he flipped his car. Also, I think he was planning on running for governor and someone (Joe or his kids) got hurt with illegal fireworks. I don't really have a point (hell who hasn't played with illegal fireworks and accidents are...accidents), but I'm sure this is stuff we will hear about in 4 years(?) if he decides to run for the Senate.

  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 10:52 PM)
    That's what they usually do when the winner of a night's contests comes on at the same time as one of the people who lost. I find it more interesting that the Obama camp actually had the balls to have him come out while she was still on and going after him.

    It really was interesting watching what I guess you would call subtle political maneuvering. Clinton comes out right after the projection for Obama, preventing (for at least a little bit) the pundits' discussion of the effect of the victory (momentum, etc.). Then Obama cuts her off to try and steal back the spotlight. Pretty good stuff. On a side note, I support Obama, but I thought his speech tonight was...sloppy.

    I am a republican but I cant stand this creature.

    I recently went to a party with her old sorority. They were like 30 little Ann Coulters. One of them recently had herself committed for being bi-polar. I thought it was weird that she was seeking help for being bi-polar, I figured it was a requirement for the sorority...

    I hate Glenn Beck. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Glenn Beck. I hate his show, I hate his books, I hate his face, I hate everything about the guy. I was going to post his picture, but I was already nauseous from typing his name in this post...

  15. I think people put way too much stock into the name/prestige associated with certain schools. The best advice (in my opinion) is pick a place that you'll happy at. There may be slight differences in opportunities based on where you went, but I haven't really noticed that much disparity between the jobs of my buddies who went to high ranked school v. lower ranked schools. Who knows.....

  16. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 07:01 PM)
    Linnwood,

    Well Lester Munson is a real attorney, he came and spoke at my law school.

    I am a real attorney, I have a pretty little license, degree, and card that lets me get in the Daley Center with out having to pass through metal detectors.

    What legal expert has exactly disagreed with any of the attorneys that have been on ESPN?

    I assume your an attorney since you can just dismiss people that actually passed the bar like Munson.

    Some one just brought up Vick.

    His indictment came out in less than 6 months.

    Bonds indictment took 4 years.

    Why?

    Simple, Anderson was told that he would be in jail until he told the feds what they wanted. Anderson finally told the feds that Bonds knew he did steroids. The fed is so hell bent on getting Barry that it is willing to go to trial basing its entier case on Anderson.

    Sorry but there is no smoking gun.

    There is no tape of Bonds saying : "I know the cream is roids"

    Its going to be Anderson on the stand going:

    "I told Barry it was steriods"

    And then it will be Barry saying "He never told me it was steriods"

    Then youll have the prosecutor argue you cant believe bonds cause hed do anything to save his career/life, youll ahve the defense attorney argue you cant believe Anderson because he would do anything to get out of jail, and clearly the fed was fishing for an answer because its to coincidental that they only released him once he gave the information they wanted to hear.

    Then it will go to a jury of San Francisco fans, and they will be asked to convict their hero.

    Yep I can see why you are all so confident in this case as compared to vick where they had a myriad of evidence and multiple flipper witnesses.

    I believe the terms are analagous and distinguishable.

    I have a Civ Pro final coming up...any chance you can come up here to Cornell and take it for me. All I can remember is 12(B)(6)
