  1. I just read that KW was in Charlotte over the week end.  Anybody know what's up here?  Two possible scenarios:

    1.  He interviewed Nick Leyva for the Sox job.

    2.  He told Leyva that we was appointing Wally for the Sox job.

And speaking of Charlotte, I noticed that Joe B did not play Sunday.

    Nick Leyva was in Charlotte?

Who gave him permission to leave extended ST in Arizona?

  2. We had quite a discussion during my European History class today. In the Vietnam era, a young man named John Rambo decided to serve his country and go to Vietnam (sorry but I do not know his rank or branch). He was soon killed in action. At the same time, a man named Sylvester Stallone disgraced his country and ran from the draft. He soon, as we all know, became a leading actor (I was gonna say successful because such a coward doesnt succeed) in Hollywood. And he sooned potrayed the character "Rambo" and made him look like a psycho. If I were Mr and Mrs Rambo, father of John, I would have been very upset...

That movie was based on a fictional novel written by David Morrell, who also helped write the screenplay.

    Your a dumbass.

  3. i thought i remember reading somewhere that we had untill the 10th of january to offer todd a deal and if we didnt come up with one then we had to wait till may to do it again

He was non tendered,he can be offered and accept a deal at any time prior to the start of the season, after the start of the season the Sox would have to make room for him on the twenty five man roster.

OK I have to ask, since you are pushing this hard for a twenty seven year old prospect that has never been above AA,plays less than average defense in a position that needs better than average defense, and has little speed or baserunning skills, are you his brother,or perhaps his cousin?

  5. Well if you really want a guy that could never rise above AA in a six year career playing second base for the Big club, that is up to you,but I think most fans would rather not have to watch that.

How in the hell do you blame Kenny for a six year minor leaguer filing for FA?

The Sox have no power to prevent it from happening.

No problemo, I didn't even know that Kisechnick (ffs get an easier name to type!!) was even signed by the Brewers. I doubt either Dellaero or Kiechfhagfjnick will ever make it back to the bigs.

It will be impossible for Dallaero to make it back to the bigs,he has never been there.

though we dont know exactly what happened..thomas could have gotten a good offer from the dodgers or somebody and used it as leverage to get KW to give him a descent contract since frank did sign before the deadline was up...i dont know if we will ever know but if KW did offer this contract without his hand being forced..maybe it means he might be learning how to treat his players better...atleast i can hope

Kenny had nothing to do with this, this deal was done by JR and Arn Tellum,no one else was involved.

the people at wsi are so ghey. i have known this for a while. they are so snobby, there is a group of people (george, cheeses, daver, voodoo etc) that depend on each other to make themselves look smart. if you ever try and prove them wrong they say something stupid like "learn to use the shift key, or I'm not reading your posts" or "WHOA BUDDY SAY HOW YOU REALLY FEEL". they are like the idiot kids in the back of a classroom.

it is disgraceful how they treated hsc because they weren't the source of the info. lip man has never said one intelligent thing, yet he talks like he writes for the NY Times or something. he just likes to feel important.

    :**** Whiny s***heads Interactive

Hey,don't hold back, say what you really feel.

First off, note that it's not the "Rule V Draft," but the Rule 5 draft. It's called the Rule 5 draft because the section of the Official Rules that covers the draft just happens to be Rule 5 in the book.

Eligibility: A player not on a team's Major League 40-man roster is eligible for the Rule 5 draft if: the player was 18 or younger when he first signed a pro contract and this is the fourth Rule 5 draft since he signed, OR if he was 19 or older when he first signed a pro contract and this is the third Rule 5 draft since he signed.

A player drafted onto a Major League roster in the Rule 5 draft must remain in the majors (on the 25-man active roster or the DL) for all of the subsequent season, or the drafting club must attempt to return him to his original club. However, since a returned Rule 5 player must first be placed on outright waivers, a third club could claim the player off waivers. But of course, that club would then also have to keep him in the majors all season, or offer him back to his original club.

Occasionally, the drafting club will work out a trade with the player's original team, allowing the drafting club to retain the player but send him to the minors.

Umm that makes zero sense,he wouldn't be a player to be named later,as he is on the 40 man roster, the ptbnl would be someone that can't be named until after the rule 5 draft, not someone on the forty man roster.

Is he just waiting for arbitration or is he technically a free agent?

I thought Parque and Ritchie are the only two remaining Sox that were abritration eligible which would lead me to believe Paul is still with the Sox.

My intention was he would be the first to be waived to clear room on the roster.
