Burdi has sucked at AAA this year and they brought him up before . I was hoping if they brought up a pitcher it would be someone different. If Hahn wants to wait and see if they can avoid making trades and giving up too many prospects then what's the harm in actually trying a RP who is doing well in Charlotte like Ofreidy Gomez or Nik Turley both of them can at least throw strikes and get people out in the minors. Both have under a 1 WHIP. Burdi is 1.55

I was hoping it would be Lambert, been throwing well of late, getting healthier. But they probably want to keep him in the rotation down there since he is recovering from injury, so it would make sense. But Burdi, ouch.

Jace Fry has pitched 1 inning so far in his rehab assignment in Charlotte 5/27/21  , 0 hits and runs , 2 K , 1 BB. Should be pitching again soon.

He pitched today and had 1 perfect inning with 2 Ks.

Wilson Betemit and Ryan Sweeney should be in the HoF.

Buddy Bradford a long time ago was a Spring Training sensation for two or three seasons in a row. Never amounted to much during the season. When I think of spring sensations he just always comes to mind. Late 1960s.

I'm saying the White sox Never acquire a star.

Jose Abreu is a questionable star (he certainly was a star last season), but we signed him via the international market (? I think). At that point he was not a star and while I'm sure he was heralded as potentially good, that wasn't the white sox acquiring a star.

Grandal is only a marginal 'star' because of the position he plays.

For once, I want them to put their money on the table and get someone. Get me Bauer. Get Lindor next season. Use some prospect depth to take advantage of these teams crying poor and trade for their stars (padres just owned this route).

Long ago, but Carlton Fisk, Greg Luzinski. Albert Belle.

Maybe Moncada has a better season to make up for any regression. I don't see Abreu regressing much.

If Abreu stays in the shape he was in this season, the best he has been in since with the team, then I do not see much regression either.

Wasn’t it Robert who hit the ball that Buxton caught over the wall? Those two plays show who the better centerfielder is, though Robert is very good himself... but surprisingly not as good with plays at the wall.

Encarnacion had one robbed by Buxton this year.

  7. I read several articles covering that Sports Illustrated article on the Phillies Dalton Gang. Headed by by Turk Farrell and made up of other pitchers from the staff, Jim Meyer was one, Don Caldwell was one for a short time. They were imfamous stay out all night, beat up people in the bar, just rip roaring mean drunks who were all tougher than hell. Farrell was the leader of the gang.

Other than Sheets and Vaughn who are other recent ones?  I can't think of any.

There was that Water Polo guy, Sam Abbott. He was a 1Bman.  Zangari. Jameson Fisher. Tyler Osik,  I guess Fisher played some outfield, but the others were just 1Bmen.

  9. Garver had a huge year last year. Kepler seems to be regressing with the bat and now he is hurt I think. They let Schoop and Cron go, Tigers picked them up and Schoop has helped them a lot. Rosario has not taken the next step up, seems to have hit his level.
