QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:13 PM)This has the makings of a repeat from Friday. Easy win on paper then the offense forgets to show up.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 09:17 AM)Beatles to those of you who don't know rock.

i remember last year when the playoff rosters were announced and wasserman wasnt on it. He was one of the few guys to still stay with the team.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 08:07 PM)He has been respectable offensively, and certainly better than I expected but he has been far from awesome. He is a below average for a leadoff man, and a below league average hitter overall. He is certainly better than Wise and Anderson though. Unfortunately he is quite possibly the worst base runner in baseball.
i thought i had some bad base runners on my slow pitch softball team but pods makes em look good

QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 06:44 PM)Not before we sign El Duque.
just because of what he did against the Red Sox. What a stud

I got this from espn mlb rumors.
"Diamondbacks right-hander Jon Garland has cleared trade waivers, according to a report on FoxSports.com.
The question will be if any team would be willing to take on Garland's hefty contract, which has a minimum of $4 million remaining. The Fox report says finances could prevent Garland from being unloaded."
I think that if he didnt have that much money take a shot cause i dont think Jose and Freddy are going to fair to well.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 06:25 PM)This inability to finish a sweep is an embarrassment on par with how we soil our diapers in the metrodome. Yes, I understand winning 2/3 is good enough; but Jesus, what is this, 10/11 times we've won the first two/three games of a series and couldn't win the final one? And I believe we've only swept three, all at home. I wouldn't expect them to sweep all games, obviously. But atleast several more than we've seen.
And while some people may dismiss it as chance (even though we've hardly faced aces in the final game, as this afternoon has shown), I believe there is just something about this roster that allows these moments to occur with frequency. I don't know if it's one player specifically, but there's a definite mindset in that clubhouse. Almost a "well, we won the first two, and everyone knows we'll lose the third, so we'll lose," just as in the Metrodome its "the minute something goes wrong we're going to lose."
This needs to end, immediately. It's really getting to the point where I'm losing interest in this ballclub, even as they are still well within reach of the division lead.
have you ever thought of seeing someone for help?
-
we always have a chance to win when Jose isnt pitching

my favorite player of all time...well right behind mike caruso
