Hello all,
I actually played against Dugan in Little League and then again during our last summer in college. I believe he was drafted out of high school late in the amatuer draft, but of course he declined to improve his chances.
He may not have the most impressive numbers in college, but he is by far one of the best athletes I've ever seen. Also, you'll also note that he went to Kentucky Wesleyan University, who plays in a WOODEN BAT conference. If I remember correctly they play about 30-40 conference games a season. So you have to adjust for the wood bats. That should give him an advantage at Spring Training.
Stay optimistic about this guy, and remember that the SOX are the world champs right now. Being picked up by them has to count for something.
Respectfully,
BG
