  1. Here's a copy of the rumor from FoxSports.com. Five MLB stories you must read for Thursday, March 11, 2004 Yankees may deal for Ordonez Chicago Tribune The Tribune's Steve Rosenbloom reports that the Yankees may look to the White Sox for help if Gary Sheffield can't play through his thumb injury. Look for the Yankees to target Magglio Ordonez if Sheffield is forced to go under the knife.
  2. There's a rumor that the Yankees could be going after Ordonez, now that Sheff is hurt. This seems like bs ,but who would they have to trade now that Soriano is gone? I don't think they even have anyone left in their farm system. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2221446
  3. I know Wrigley faces North, and the Rockies stadium faces North, but the rest of them i don't know.
  4. Yeah we really screwed them on that deal. KW will never live that one down.
  5. The nightlife rates as what is available to do in the immediate vicinity of the park.. meaning we're pretty well screwed on that on. That's probably the biggest thing they'll bash. Hopefully they'll include the loop but it is a stretch. The wild card is just bonus points for miscellaneous things up to 10.
  6. Espn Page 2 http://msn.espn.go.com/page2/s/ballparks/jacobs.html is running a series on ranking all the parks in MLB (sweet job ), and the Cell is coming up soon. Out of 100 points so far Pac Bell has the highest score 93, and the lowest score so far is far the Expos 49. Below is the ranking criteria, and I'm hoping we get a fair grade so people will stop bashing the Cell. I'm thinking somewhere around 75 would be about right, and that would hopefully move the park up a little in public opinion. The improvements have obviously made a difference but there still are a lot of problems (upper deck being the worst). How would you rank the Cell out of a scale of 100? [/b](5 best, 1 worst) Seat comfort: Hot dogs: Concessions: Signature food: Beer: Bathrooms: Scoreboard: P.A. system: Fun stuff: Souvenirs: Tickets: Exterior: Interior: Access: Ushers: Trading up: Fan knowledge: 7th inning stretch: Local scene: Wild card:
  7. Yeah but they had that damned Rally Monkey , and a good coach in Scoicia who had won two as a player and is a good motivator. It may not be about having rings, but having a confident winning swagger that these teams feel like they should win games. Even though they have the talent, I just don't see that in the Sox for whatever reason.
  8. Some?? Try almost all of the guys on this team (Frank, Maggs, CLee, Buerhle, etc). All they have ever known is mediocrity and our vocal leader Jose was on the Brewers, nuff said. Alomar may have gotten there, but he is no leader. The one taste of the playoffs they had in 2000 against Seattle was a pathetic attempt and the team looked like they didn't feel like they belonged. Regular season is one thing but the post season is what seperates the real winners, and even if by some magic winning steak they do get there this year, it'll happen again. This team just doesn't have the swagger of the top teams that know every night they should win and there is a reason for that. These are the teams that will win it all (not KC, Minnesota, White Sox etc), and we should be aspiring to that level. Rank Team Rec. Comment 1 Giants 55-34 Barry Bonds needs just 22 homers to move past Willie Mays on the all-time HR list. All we can say is, look out Hank Aaron. 2 Mariners 56-32 With a victory by Freddy Garcia on Thursday, the M's will lay claim to having four 10-game winners on their staff. 3 Braves 57-31 Javy Lopez has more than double the amount of home runs already this season (23) than he had all of last year (11). 4 Yankees 54-34 If Mariano Rivera (1.67 ERA and 15-of-16 in save opportunities) isn't an All-Star, call us crazy. What a joke that he's not on the AL team. 5 Diamondbacks 50-39 Rookie Brandon Webb is 6-2, 2.18 and hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his 13 starts.
  9. We hit 30k last night with the Pepsi promo. What'll it be tonight??? I'm leaving work now to do some tailgaiting. GO SOX!!!
  10. What the hell ever happened to Caruso? Last I heard he was with Tampa and then he disappeared. Sucks he was a 1 year wonder with us.
  11. It was hilarious in my section a couple behind me got into a heated argument about it and she just left his ass sitting there. I'm not this passionate about it and I agree it is awesome to just see that many people out there enjoying themselves, but it's a gauge to see who's a real fan I guess.
  12. What's up everyone! I found this board and everyone here cracks me up, and it's nice to find so many well informed Sox fans. Anyway, enough ass kissing. I've got a question from something I noticed last night in the Cell. WTF is up with all the people doing the wave and would any TRUE fan ever do the wave??? Trying to settle an argument from the bleachers the other day, and we were big time out numbered on this one.
